    ... f@@@ with it.

Well, I've been very busy the last few months. Had a great AS month in January. Down a bit by end of March so now I have some spare time, I scoured the net for the latest AS optimisation advice.
I tweaked this and twiddled that - the good news overall traffic is up, p/V per visitor is up, bad news is CTR and eCPC is down.

I have confused the hell out of myself in the bargain. Now, I've decided to just sit back and stop buggering with it for a couple of weeks to see what happens.

Maybe my site just sucked so much originally that people were fleeing off via the AS ads and now I've made some improvements they are staying on-site but I am losing money.

    Oh well.

lol! It's not really funny but I know what you mean, which makes it funny for me. I've been in the same situation before where I tweaked and made all these 'improvements' that were supposed to boost income ... ha!

Nah, I gave up in disgust too ... after thoroughly confusing in the process. :)

I made "improvements" and "optimized".....only to "un-improve" and "un-optimize" to get my CTR and earnings back where they were.

Even the failed experiments are useful, because they teach us what not to do.

    Keep your chin up! :)

The changes I made certainly caused a dip but I don't want to unmake them right away because of the overall good effect they seem to have had to the visitors. Yesterday's AS was not so bad though CTR is still down, the overall takings were back to normal (nowhere near january's takings though).

I'll sit tight a while longer and who knows maybe I'll have something positive to report when it all settles down.

Yes, most of us have. It's pretty much common knowledge these days.
