DMOZ distributed the directory database doh! you can see many directories website have the same information.. such as goooogle
Maybe a stupid question... How are you guys checking to see who has looked at your listing? Did you get a login page in an email when you joined - mine must have been deleted by my junk mail filter. Cheers
Congrats to ya I submitted 2 websites to DMOZ, nearly 4 months ago, still waiting to get listed. I won't submit again... just wait wait wait http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=67688
Editors join, others submit suggestions. If you apply to join as an editor then you should get an email to reply to, and if you get accepted then you get another email and a login; if you submit a suggestion all you get is a confirmation screen that you can save or print if you want, no logins, no emails.
Not necessarily bingo. Some editors deliberately open suggested sites in such as way as not to show the referrer. Lots of editors skim check sites to make sure they are suggested to the right category and to eliminate spam, not to review and list (unless they hit something truly exceptional and eye catching in that skim in which case they might stop and review). If you see the site listed within a week or so after seeing a referral then you've been lucky. Otherwise assume nothing - a lot of people assume if they don't see the site listed after seeing a referral that their site has been rejected - sometimes that is correct, it has been rejected, quite often it means zero other than an editor has looked.
