I believe it takes time.

Hi! I have created a content rich website.
It took me much time to build it and to write the articles, but it is finally online.
Monday an Tuesday - 500+ visitors and no click. All the ads are a bit under the teaser (two medium rects and I'm considering an ad unit above the fold), and I write an article every day.
No clicks, but I believe it takes time, so I have to be patient until I'll have results.
    Anyway, wanted to know if I'm not the only one...(;

How much time it took you till you finally received some clicks?...

    500 visitors and 0 clicks !!!!!!

Normally you receive clicks as soon as your site is online and have visitors

500 visitors should bring some clicks.. I have 8-10 clicks from 100 visitors, so try to change ad placement.
    Good luck.

With 500 visitors you should get some clicks. Check the relevancy of the ads.

That is not a lot of visitors, and say a great CTR is 5%, with only 20 max visitors its very possible through odds that no one will click your ads. You definately need more traffic before you can accurately judge where you stand.

if you have human generic traffic
    then adsense is effective instantly
means you get instantly clicks as much as you would get later as well
average in mixed content in a FULLY adsense optimized sitge around 2 digits CTR

if you have human traffic and NO clicks then you made all adsense optimization wrong
there are plenty of threads elaborating in very detail on that topic
    see

give your URL and may be there is more precise help possible

Well, where did you get the 500 visitors? If you just put your site online, chances are they didn't come from the search engines or a source that would give you relevant traffic.

People who are just stumbling on your site via some sort of traffic exchange program aren't going to click your ads because they don't care about your content. You want people who are actually researching the stuff you're writing about. They're the ones who are interested in the topic and possibly considering making a purchase in that field....

Relevant traffic is key to getting ad clicks.
