Consider writing a press release or start blogging about it.

Be careful, your forum looks dangerously similar to this forum. Digital Point might not be the best place to market your new forum.

You can also organize some kind of contest related to you niche and announce a reward. Outsourcing it to forum posters for few days is a good idea till you start getting some good traffic. You can also create some professional videos related to your niche and post on video sites and link to your forum.

I'm a IT Engineer, but when I visit your site it make me bored because:
    - Your 4rum has poor of posts about IT as you want it about.
    - Ads is the first thing make visitors more bored. You need get out all of ads from your site before you get more members (27 is not a nice number), You see, DP forum has very small ads, if ads have better information can bring visitor toward other sites by click to your ads. Keep visitor as long as you can!
    - More information about IT

    Hello,

First off, I don't suggest you to use phpBB as it's very unprofessional. Use a professional forum software (I recommend MyBB).
Secondly, Post some contests on your forum - for example = Offer $50 to the person who first make 100 Posts or so. This will help you get kick started and ones you get some active members, your growth will start!

I wouldnt pay people to post, I would find real people - do a competition, use social media - use existing forums to generate interest in your forum

I would have a contest like other people have suggested. Make the contest related to forum posts to encourage discussion.

Keeping people engaged will be the hardest part of your adventure. You will constantly need to keep driving new people to the forum to keep the conversations going six months from now.

Starting the forum isn't a hard task. Keeping people engaged and constantly coming back is the hard task for you.

First, you need more people posting on your forums...

You will have to pay for this...

Article marketing and link building should help.

Heres an article on link building that should be helpful:

10 simple ways to get backlinks to your site

That should help you get more visitors;)

I think the best way to promote would be to invitee some high profile article writers to do a write up
