Some good tips so far. Here are some ways people make money. There are many more. Doing some searches should lead you to a lot of good articles (and thousands of ebooks on the subject). Most of what you need is out there and costs $0. It just takes a bit of time and effort. Good luck.
You could do this to make money online...i guess. 1) Make website (Take long time to make alot of money...) - income from adsense 2) Promote other people's products - clickbank.com , cj.com etc... 3) Sell real goods online at place like ebay. 4) join some good networking program and sell product to other people. 5) Make your own product like ebook or something that is your original idea. someone think of more....

Making money by building websites is possible but it's not that easy. If you think it is as easy as building a site up with lots of adsense, sending a few emails to friends and money will start coming in, you may have to do some actual research to get closer to the big picture. As many has put it, I realised the content does matter but if you have good content but you can't attract the right traffic, that's no use.

Very well said Angela. To add just a little bit to that, focus on solving problems which haven't been done online. If you have very little to no competition to begin with, it makes things just that much easier. When you become the authority in that niche you have a huge headstart over any competitors which may enter the space.
