    Here you go,

    As requested one ant tutorial.....

    http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/TOOLS/ANTKEY/antid1.html

Joking aside, there are lots of free directory scripts available, but it will take a lot of hard work and effort to take a free script and stand out from the crowd.

You need to spend considerable time building up the directory, keeping it clear of spam, promoting it, reviewing sites etc.

Use a script link phplinkdirectory or site-sift script install it into a directory, or use a new/exsiting domain.

Follow the installation process, pretty easy with the two mentioned above. Then start creating categories for your directory.

Note before you start, think about what kind of directory you want to begin, general, niche and so on. So do some research before you begin.

If you got all your categories into your new directory create a new webdesign, it´s advisable to create a unique design for your directory so you´ll stand out in the directory world.

Start promoting your directory, for instance take a look at this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=25101 here you´ll find various link lists, add your directory.

    Directories that I like are: http://www.site-sift.com/, http://www.categorizedweb.com/, http://www.sevenseek.com/, http://www.dirspace.com/, http://www.alivedirectory.com/, http://www.kingbloom.com/, http://www.axeq.com/, http://www.azook.com, just a few that popped my mind.

Good luck with creating your new web directory.:)
