Not much from article depots...you get lost in so many other articles unless you have a real winner.
I've started a network of bloggers and write articles for them - traffic is looking nice for all my sites.

Working on links is the best thing for you.

I Say better plan for the future.

Why not submit your articles to many article directories and they get more BL's and u can see good results like PR increase and u then can get trafiic directly from Search Engines :)

I've had great luck with article submission myself. I recommend going to the sites and then seeing what is popular. Then write an article in that style and submit it there. Doing that on reddit.com jumped my traffic up by 1,000 visitors a day, plus many other blogs and forums picked up my article, further increasing the traffic.

Submitting articles will you give variable results. A lot of factors are involved.. such as.. quality of article, where you submitted it, quantity submitted, etc. As for long term, it's good stuff. You get backlinks and if your article is good people will pass it around on the internet.

I've seen viral results.. it just depends though.

I've had good results from article submissions. Granted the backlinks generated create more value than actual visitors coming through, at least to date. Though I have a few articles floating around that keep getting picked up, so that's nice marketing without much work thereafter.

Link building is important so you can get on SERPs.

It all depends on the avenue, the topic, the content value, the relevancy.

Plus, sometimes it's hit-or-miss honestly. Try a few different things for each article, one thing will work for one and not another.

    Same with Digg I'd suppose.
