Digg say "don't talk about digg"

A bunch of us have been involved in a debate over whether it's ok to use other forums to promote digg stories and the ethics of whether that promotion should include a request to click.

Just like you get banned for requesting a click with PPC advertising programs so you get banned requesting a click on the magic digg button

But it appears you can also get banned for advising against it.

There'll be a few of you chortling this morning to see the screen that's presented this morning to Kornmadefreaks, me, brandon079, samskpun (ahkip), emil2k. And it's all todo with http://digg.com/tech_news/Cheating_on_digg_2

My digg was filled with bad comments and today i saw that i was also banned
and all credits again go to Kornmadefreaks

I was not even in your project but i feel my ban was because i posted by DIGG's link in that B/S?T Section's Digg exhange thread

I was thinking this morning about the work I'll have to do now I have broken RSS feeds being used all over the place - promoting the diggs I've made and providing inbound links to Digg.

But I see from this example http://sarahk.zoints.com/ that they're happy to leave the feeds in place. So, I can still promote them but I can't keep the feed fresh.

Do these bans expire? Anyone get an email?

Yup thats what I get on both of my accounts.

Maybe it was the two accounts that got me banned.

What pisses me off is that because of one idiot move, everyone got banned. Many of us have been abusing this for a while now. So why now? Because of that retarded thread about digg bigg.

the reason was a guy kornmadefreaks was reporting every digg and posting links of dp digg exchange thread in all the comments.
seeing which they banned
