I just got the email from Greg Smith from www.coolsiteoftheday.com notifiying me that one of my sites has been selected to be the featured "Cool Site Of The Day" for tomorrow. First of all I think it's really cool of him to notify us the day before so we can make any preperations necessary. Anyone had any experience with this and know about how much traffic to expect? I've notified my host datacenter and told them to keep an eye on my server. Am I over-reacting? Also is it a "good thing" to be listed on a Friday? - George
I'm glad to hear you were selected. I submitted my site and all it has produced so far is a lot of sales calls from businesses offering me a "free 30 day trial offer" for something I don't want. I hope it does well for you.
3k the first day between coolsiteoftheday and some other site that must be affiliated with it. Then, over the next few months, another 5k or so. Good stuff, but it's not targetted to anything but entertainment sites really.
After seeing this post im really surprised when my paid submission was accepted he put it off for almost 2 months... When other guys get it for next day. I wonder why has he done this?
Dunno, one time I got listed in a week, another time a couple days, another time I was rejected (dude said "Nice site, but it's too specific to be of interest to our visitors). The first two were entertainment sites, the 3rd was niche.
