Wow, your post really did help me find out how many links apprx. to next PR. Didn't know there was such ranking and it matters what PR page links to you too! Thanks

Interesting table. Looks like someone had a lot of spare time on their hands.

any link counts, but you should have at least few quality links to get an "upgrade"

    Hello malcolm1,

The PR Rank Table really cuts to the chase with a minimum of useless conjecture. I also have a quick question. A PR6 vendor web site I am affiliated with published one of my articles on their site. Since the article has only recently been published it has a PR0. What is the weight of the backlink?

    Thanks, Sam Streubel

Just try and concentrate on getting links that will boost your traffic, don't worry too much about boosting the PR.

If you get many back links your PR will boost up

but you should get some quality back links from your content related site as this will also boost up your visitor statistics

the table is very intresting but i the important think quality of your backlinks , not quantity . i think one link from pr 8 beats has more value than the 100 links from pr 1 or pr 0 ;)

    Hello,

From what I've read elsewhere, page rank is not only related to how many incoming links you are getting for a higher page rank, but is strongly influenced by the quality of those links and the relationship of those links to your sites content and theme. Also it is currently being proposed that it is even better for a higher page rank if that link is inbound vs exchanged as most links are.

Looking at what we can aim after looking at a PR :

0 - Black listed or new websites or webpages
1 - Very low PR (not much use getting linked from such pages)
2 - Low PR (not much use getting linked from such pages)
3 - Low-average PR (not a very good linking opportunity, but still go ahead with a links exchange)
4 - Average PR (most running sites fall in this category - exchange links)
5 - Good PR (This could be a good links exchange)
6 - Very good PR (Exchanging links with this site would be like finding a rare gem)
7 and above - An excellent opportunity to get linked. Almost never comes for free.

So just try getting Link Backs from pr4+ websites

Interesting but I would just ignore it. First ask yourself why any site would want to link to yours. Then just use commone sense... you want links from related sites, with the right anchor text, from sites with a higher PR than yours. Get as many as you can. End of story.

I agree with that. I've heard that it's good to vary the PR.

As long as you stick with what an average of the table you should be close.

You really need to focus on overshooting the target on the table anyway.
Never make it your maximum... change the number you were gazing at into your minimum.

On page optimization is part of the key to high PR just as many were speaking of.

Go for the OFF Page optimizing full on massive action.
    Focus and dedication.....or
pay some money for your high PR links and then link exchange with higher PR sites who see your site up from your purchased links.

When you get enough " Free" links exchanged to maintain your desired PR
    Stop the purchased links.

It should give you a boost.

I wish there was a definitive number like that, but there is nothing like that. you just need quality links from better sites. thats what which works,
