Hey Folks, Sorry if I worded this topic a little wrong, it's cause I'm not sure I know exactly how to word it properly as I'm new to this marketing business. Ok - so i run a well known PUMA sneaker site/blog/forum/photoblog and I get well over 1000 uniques visitors a day... now all I'm trying to do is get adsense to fit in properly so I can boost up my revenue... here's a screenshot of this month so far... I find that my numbers are quite high while my revenue is quite low, but you're the pro and I'll just sit back and listen to what you have to say so i can learn. Over 6000 impressions - 70 clicks - 1.06% page CTR - $0.87 Page eCPM - $5.72 earnings... I don't have many ads on my site because I'm not a "ad freak" in a sense that I blast my readers with plenty of ads... I focus on content and quality hence the reason I'm in the top10 or sometimes top 20 on Google for PUMA so please let me know, how I can improve these numbers because they don't seem right (atleast to my knowledge) my best, -JOEY
Suggest you remove the image or blank out the parts of it that are causing you to be in violation of TOS...you're not allowed to post anything other than gross earnings.
It all depends on keywords on your site. Google has adwords tool you can check keywords and then check bids. You will not get poaid the bid amount but it gives idea wich pay better. Post below has keyword and density for adsense. they have way to get keywords for site you want. Adsense keywords. Url below you can check keywords and prices https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
Relax my friend! I am in no way doing any harm to anyone - I will remove my image but you need to learn to be a little more courteous and helpful as opposed to talk regulations. RCJ: Thanks alot mate - I'll deff look into that now my best, -Joey ps: don't you worry "AdPUBster" the image is removed
I'm not worried, it was strictly for your sake, not mine, so I WAS being helpful I was short and to the point in my post because I wanted to put the post out there quick so you could remove it quick.
Now, to check payments per click, it's best to test it on your own site because that's where it counts. If you can monitor clicks and see upon which pages they are being done and which ads are being clicked (adlogger works for this), then set up some channels for the pages. Your clicks are low enough that you should be able to keep an eye on your stats periodically and see how much a certain channel increases after it has been clicked on. Knowing that and the ad that was clicked on will start giving you an idea of how much the advertisers that are showing up on your site are worth. Oh, and don't mean to be unhelpful again, but it's not the image itself that was counter to TOS, it's the stats on it, which you have just transcribed to text...but, that's up to you. I shan't suggest anything.
Adpubster, Thanks alot for your reply - to be honest I have no idea I wasn't allowed to post an image on this forum! Now that I know, I won't! I just wanted to help you folks to help me out (i hope that made sense). I'll check : adlogger - I also have that channels thing but not really don't understand how it works... for example I have 4 custome URLs www.pumatalk.com www.pumatalk.com/forum www.pumatalk.com/blog www.pumatalk.com/photoblog Now the pumatalk.com has 6,725 impressions with 71clicks while the rest have 3,572 with 44 clicks... So Im not sure what's going on there mate honestly a snapshot would help you better then text no? either way if that's the tos, then that's what it is -JOEY
You can certainly post images here but if you're going into that deep of details with your stats, it doesn't matter if you post an image or put it out in text form, neither is really allowed (I don't mean not allowed by DP but by Google...the only stats you are allowed to give, especially since you are listing your sites, is your gross earnings) Are you saying the rest (bottom three) total your second set of statistics? Remember with channels that things can easily get counted twice...your first line includes everything in the following three. So, if you take that first set and subtract the numbers from the remaining three, you'll get what the stats are just for your root level (or your root level plus any other directories that you have besides the three) That tells me that your root level page is getting about as much traffic and clicks as your three subdirectories combined. I have all 200 channels used on my site and with that I can get down to the level of pages that are of a common format and by checking which ads were clicked on which page, I can tell a fair amount of the time the value of a specific click and use that to come up with a table of advertisers and click values. Also check the urls of the ad themselves, a lot may be going to very low-paying sites whose ads are just there to get visitors to click on THEIR ads. I filter these and the real low paying ones out using the Competitive Ad Filter and it (at least in my case) has helped increase earnings.
I just installed Adlogger - I guess it needs a bit of time until it loads up all the info stats in there... so I'll leave it till tomorrow and check it out I also guessing that it knows exactly where to get the stats from? because i installed in www.pumatalk.com/adlogger meaning it will search for my code and not anyone else's? or do i have to insert a code in there? I thought the channels were like different webpages on your site. that's why I only have 4 me... -Joey
This is rough, Joey. Adbuster is actually very courteous and helpful answering your own questions for your own good. If you had spent at least a day reading these or any other forums you might get an idea of a proper behavior yourself. I'd remove that IMG caption as it makes you look obnoxiously newbie-like. Adpubster, added you rep for patience and helping out newbies against all odds.
Totally agree with you... I have read a view posts - I was still confused to be honest... In any case, I installed Adlogger and ganna review the stats on that... I'm just trying to make sense from this Adsense thing... I just don't understand how I have high impressions and low clicks... i know I'm doing something wrong, I doubt the adsense is wrong... I just need some help & guidance folks appreciate all ur help even the mean ones hahah Adbuster - we're cool now aren't we? Even though our intro was a little rough, i apologize mate... i'm a cool kid!!! -JOEY
No worries Various types of sites have high CTR, other types have low CTR. A lot depends upon the type of visitors that show up...whether or not they are ad-savvy or see all links as equal. Your CTR is less on your homepage (probably) because all you have there is a single link unit. For those, people have to click twice before you get any credit. On the other pages, you have ad units and more than just one so there is a better chance of people clicking on them, thus higher click...although as I said before, if I'm reading what you've said correctly, your CTR is not really that different between homepage and forum, blog etc. I would definitely change that link unit to an ad unit, though, and maybe add some more content as you are a little content-shy on the homepage. Now, on the other pages, I have to say that, in the blog for example, the large images actually divert my eyes from the ads, so you might play around a little with image sizes. Also, the blog is fairly long. Really long, in fact. When people scroll down just a short ways, they are out of the ad area, no ads for them to click, but the page goes on and on and on and when they get to the bottom (if they get that far) what do they do? No ad to click on so they exit the page with a backarrow or some similar means...doesn't matter how, the point is that you don't get any clicks on the top ads. Might try breaking the blog into multiple pages. This will do two things for you. The first is that it will make the pages shorter so that you can distribute the ads better. The second is that it will give you a few more pages to put ads on
Well it seems like things picked up today... although I shouldn't consider this solid stats because just a days work... but here they are... 1755 impressions 33 clicks 1.88% CTR $ 2.28eCPM and earnings of 4$ What do you think? Is that considered good or no? I honestly have no idea if this is considered good or weak? Also is there a site I can check for how much my keywords are worth? Thanks fellas, -Joey
joeydee I think you misunderstood Adpubster when it came to the image. The reason he said you couldn't post the image was because it was showing your full adsense stats. Your last post there above this one is also showing your full stats for today which is against adsense's Terms of Service and could result in the loss of your adsense account. Adpubster was just trying to point that out to be helpful. Well as for your earnings it seems a little low at $0.12 a click average but you are getting an ok click rate and eCPM. Maybe try and target your ads more or try to filter out some low paying MFA sites if you have any.
Hey EFx2, Thanks for your comment... I realized after Adbuster was helping me out.. to be honest I didn't knwo it was against TOS to tell or show my stats in order to improve them... that was my goal, because I really do not understand these numbers and I'm trying to make sense of them (I'm a Film Student, Im' not good with numbers) But Thanks again - I have been messing around here and there... appreciate your comments & help folks. -JOEY
