I have a site with a monthly average of 40,000 visits and 350,000 hits, the site is about animals and all pages have only pictures and no text except for scientific animal names. Do you think I can make some profit adding AdSense to this site.

    Thanks for your help.

Yes, but you should learn where to put adsense code. The most important is exposition of this banner.

Shure you can. More than you make right now. :) Give a try for a month. Maybe some extra text about pets, animals could be useful. As much as I know, keywords about pets and animals could be very profitable.

Kids will look for animal stuff to make schoolwork... but adults will look for equipment, bug repellant, cat litter, dog cages, leech... so you have to have those words around on the pages so you get the animal equipment and repellant stuff ads... people look for what they want or wanna get rid of... Well that's what I see on my french animal site.

Add captions to your pictures, as well as alt text. And if it's not too late, make the file names meaningful. These three factors should help you get relevant ads and more clicks = more profits.

I think you can make some money with adsense. A lot of money. I get $200 a month with less than 3,000 uniques a month so I think you could probably make around $1000 a month without making your site look like a complete google spam site. Just make sure you take the borders out of the ads and blend them into the site.

You should really take a look at critters thread on how he improved his CTR because it is directly related to your site.
    Critters thread on increasing CTR

Another article on increasing CTR - The copy isn't so hot but there are some good ideas here.

Im thinking you can always try putting on image only adsense. See how that works.

    Hey guys,

I have similar traffic to one of my sites. Does it cost to do the Adsense thing? I havew heard of Adsense but never looked into it before.

This is a pretty cool site with some great ideas. I'm going to look at how I can incorporate these ideas into a couple of my sites. I'm a little concerned by the third method with the bulleted looking ads as I'm pretty sure Google would see that as a violation of the TOS.

I think you have got the most important part of the puzzle right, which is a healthy amount of traffic. Now all you have to do is to add the adsense code to your sites and start earning. Looks set to be a high earning site.

Optimize the ads properly by choosing colors that match your site and place them in visible areas where it'll catch visitors attention.

The google site talks about using "streamlined link unit formats", does anyone really click on those??

From the description I'd say you need to add text, maybe alt tags if you have them, how are the titles of your pages organised, site files names - like JB said. In order to make money from AS, you need to give the gizmo some text to work with. I'd say the scientific animal names are cool but add common names and several key points. Maybe habitat, food, place on endangered list, length of gestation - whatever...

School kids - as someones else said, may search for scientific names, but they also might search for more general terms like African carnivores or whatever. In any case schoolies won't pay your way. You want the basic seo to support bringing in people that might buy from a scientific oriented animal site.

I am taking the last part of this to PM.
