I haven't been around for the past week but noticed my site is now #1 and #2 for "Golf Rewind" on Google. This isn't very significant but I detailed my experience after the last update in this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=9487 I also noticed many of my other keywords are starting to come back. Has anyone else experienced the same? At around the Christmas update, Googlebot activity dropped tremendously on my site. About a month ago, Googlebot activity started to creep back and now it's almost back to how it was before. I also noticed something interesting. Despite not ranking anywhere for "Golf Rewind," I still received quite a bit of referrals from Google. This past week, I've received more referrals than ever. Anyone else experiencing the same?
This update took out my site completely. My site was #3 on the first page, and now it is nowhere to be seen. I checked 20 pages and could not find my site. Not good.
I haven't noticed any major changes since the last update (first week of Feb). I wouldn't count Googlebot activity as an indicator of updated through, as the number of times your site is cached by Gbot depends on your site's PR, how often your site is updated, number of links to your site, PR of links pointing to your site and how often they are crawled etc. Re the referrals that you are getting from Google, I would recommend checking your logs for keywords. You'll be surprised with some of the keywords that cause traffic to your site. I have a photography site pretty focused on photography, New Zealand, travel etc. but a lot of times I get referrals due to keywords such as "solar cells", "space bags" and other unrelatd keywords mainly because I have links to these sites in the links directory.
Heck yeah, my google directory PR updated as well! PR6 on a 2 month old site! for a few days I was at the top of my rankings but it looks like I was sandboxed, hopefully that will lift sometime soon.
