There was some question in this thread whether or not the website I put up (adsensebits.com) was in violation of the AdSense TOS. And for good reason; The site displays email corospondance between the AdSense support team and people inquiring about specific questions. But in the spiritof the site, I asked Google and got a reply. The full email is posted here
Thank you and thank you. Save for one person who was just out to give me a bad time, there has been an overwhelmingly positive response. Just remember to link to it and spread it around. If you have a related site, let me know and I'll put it in the Useful Links menu on the left. -Cheers
Went through your site. Very interesting and informative. Nice site. Yeah, I have a site http://www.surfadsense.com At the start, it was loaded with adsense ads, and other goodies. But google let me know via email that since I was using a tm'ed name of theirs, I could not have adsense ads on the site. So I changed it and they sent me an email thanking me for following their TOS. One day, soon, it will have a better template more suited to the site and what I want to let the visitors in on.
Nice one...although I probably would have worded it "Am I allowed to reprint correspondence verbatim?" as it was never my contention that the information was confidential, just the reprinting of the mails. But its probably splitting hairs at this point. Good luck with the site...Its a great idea.
That's really cool AND the correct way to handle questionable situations with AS. Ask them...they'll tell you straight up. Good show
I tried to buy that url Thanks yfs. It's because of you I was even able to 'get the green light'. Thank you. My thoughts exactly.
Might sell surfadsense.com for the right price. Make me lots of high offers! Not a joke, will sell for the right price.
I took a look at your website, that looks great, I'll definately be going back there to pick up a few extra tips and interesting bits of info. Iowadawg: Maybe you should start a new thread about this... but what are your stats like for surfadsense.com? Would you be selling rights to the content, or just the domain?
I have not been promoting it as I am still trying to figure out how to monetize that site! Jan - 164 unique visitors Feb - 241 unique visitors Anyone want this site? Make an offer. Or give me some clues as to how to make money from it. Can not use adsense on the site.
IowaDawg... I can't really make much of an offer right now, my paypal account only has $20 in it However... I have resale rights to several google adsense ebooks/articles... You could be selling those on there.... but I mean, you have a lot of good info there, might not work so well trying to sell more of what's already offered for free... However, they are written by some "experts" and if you packaged them all together for a low price... along with some software related to the topic (which I also have, with resale rights)...
The power of DP is simply amazing. I think this is a good example of what can happen when you do something with a genuine interest for helping others. There has been an incredible amount of traffic to the site, and even a couple letters submitted. All in all, I just wanted to say thanks. I realise this site isn't going to make me any money, but it's nice to help.
Listen, I realise you're a new guy and all, but you really need to stop trolling peoples threads. This is the 5th post I have seen of yours that is nothing but negative and serves no useful purpose as genuine commentary. This community is based on the premise of experienced webmasters sharing their information and experiences for the benefits of others. And if you take ah old of that concept, you'll see it can be a great place. I don't pretend to be an authority here, because I'm pretty new to DP myself. But take a look at your posts. If you spent that time working on improving your portfolio and abilities, or gaining knowledge rather than commenting on how terrible everybody's site is in relation to the w3c consortium (of which you are obviously not an expert), you would find your stay here much more pleasant.
Well said Greg-J... I've already made one friendly post previous to this pointing out something like that to him... Johnny... Try to be a little more friendly before people start putting you on their ignore list...
Great site.. Thank you very much for such a new concept. It'll definitly saves a lot of time for noobes..
