Hello everyone.. I am new to SEO and have only been doing it for 6 months on my own site and not commercially reselling my services.. But I am coming to a stumbling block that I cant seem to move up the rankings. I have done Link Building/Blog Commenting/article Writing/Link Wheeling/Social Bookmarking (still ongoing) My keywords are at 4% density per page and the right (I think) onsite SEO on most of my landing pages. My main term is doing well the one I have concentrated most of my efforts on, but the deep linking is beginning to take its toll on me as its dropping rankings slightly. Knowone else in my market place has a clue about backlinking etc they have the onsite seo but nothing backing it up which is why I am wondering why I am going down as I have a better structure than all of them.. Any advice on what to try next.. Site is discosmobile(dot).co.uk Main term mobile disco (delete the (Dot)) and my landing pages are discosmobile(dot).co.uk/mobile-discos-areas.html with all the keywords below as anchor text.(delete the (dot)) not looking for random seo comments just to get up your post numbers I know people dont always like giving advice on an open forum.. So you can PM me if you want to keep your secrets. I am in competition with knowone on here as I am in a complete niche. But cant get up from 4th and I need to be at least 3rd (above place pages) Thanks in advance Rick
well what i would be advising you would be to go for all activities of link building including directory submissions, articles, blog posting, blog commenting, forum commenting and so on. Surely with in a matter of 6 months you website will start appearing with in the top 1000 indexing of the search engine for sure.

Yes, i will also advice you to join social media sites Facebook, twitter, make fan page of FB, Link Building, Squidoo lens, Link Wheel.
I do have a question. Did you do basic on page SEO, like page title, headline, description? I know this might sound stupid, but I have seen people doing everything they can, but forgot about that little thing. How about some guest posting? Those links (in content links) are much better than commenting ones.
Rick are you doing all those link building techniques to your deeper page such as discosmobile(dot).co.uk/mobile-discos-areas.html ? if so are you using at least 2 different anchor texts instead of just 1?
I think you need to work on the pages, try to lessen your density to 2... maybe it would work, it work on one of my site...
Go for link building to build more backlinks to your site for more traffic and for your site to rank high on Google SERP. Or on-page analysis to check if you added the correct meta tags to your site.
Ok sorry for your misunderstanding I am 4th for the main term I want to be 3rd but have been stuck at 3rd for 2 months now.. LOL I directed you to my site. If you had looked you would have noticed it has facebook hooked up to it.. and if you checked my links you will have realised I have LOTS of Links including .edu and .gov Done onpage (you could have found out by using the view page source function) But appreciate your PM again my site has enough links. competitors have 0 links I have 5-10k Blog roll links and about 1k permalink. Metaseo.. Thanks for you useful post in the other thread.. Great Help to complete newbys but I have done all this.. I am at stage 2 now trying to get higher placement.. The basics have been done.. Love you all for the help but really need some guidance on how best to jump a couple of places on page 1 already.. Rick
haha amrish2388 true.. I need advice on how to get to number 1 from 4th. in a leading search term whereby my competitors dont do anything like we do (link building blah blah blah).. But I still cant seem to get an advantage in rankings over them.. So I must be missing something.. I thought of content and someone else told me I did not have enough words on my main page.. So I rewrote it with 1.5k words and <4% KD it got re-indexed the day after still in same position although I am now getting more hits from other keywords the primary objective was to get 1st on Mobile Disco.. Maybe I am being impatient but I just cant see why I am not winning.. Rick
I'd like to join the majority and say that Links and backlinks will definitely help you to generate as much as possible traffic your web site.

Yes BACKLINKS will help You to really BOOST Your Website Efforts & Rankings.. Most times if You are running into problems it will be due to a few main things. You have very little research on what Your competitors are doing. Your system is so TIME INTENSIVE & EXTENSIVE that You are BURNING OUT. Lastly Your Work needs more FOCUSED EFFORTS. Understand that I'm saying this to help the SITUATION & in No way implying that these apply to You. Just providing a SOLUTION to help You ACHIEVE Your desired Success. So let's touch on point 1) Very little research Before We answer this. Truthfully ask Yourself what type of research are You using right now to see how Your Competitors are ranking their websites. This method or preferably software should be able to TELL you a Great detail of BACKLINKS & Rankings etc. One that I would heavily suggest is SEOQUAKE. Anyone that knows a thing or two about SEO can see that this SOFTWARE can save you LOADS of time & EYE SORE than having to do this work Yourself. Keep in Mind that each Individual has their own preference so while some prefer Software A or Software Z that's fine. Find One & Stick to one that works for You. Hi UKSteve I use SEO Quake but find it can be quite harmful with yahoo links as its always coming up as a virus when searching the backlinks.. I use SEO Xray and keyword density to check what my competition are doing etc etc. So I still dont really know what to say to that.. I know SEO as I am on first page for everything I want to be on first page for.. Its just getting past 4th to 1st place I am struggling with.. I have done extensive research on the competitors and apart from fresh content weekly and reciprocal links they are not doing ANYTHING.. While I am working my backside off to try and get above them..
