I have a very similar story my self..read it here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=580690 I made over 100K pure profit with an Ecommerce site in a year .. It is very possible, I made 90K in sales in the first 10 months of the year and sold the site for 50K....So to sum it up its possible to make some serious cash online......It was a lot of work and I really wanted to get out of Ecommerce that is why I sold...and I actually sold it to someone here on DP...I took $40 a year and a half ago and made 100K pure profit... I am always looking for people to help if you have something to bring to the table...If you are good at programming, web design, copywriting.....even writing articles I'll see if I can help....To see the thread that resulted in the sale its here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=560115
What GUI editor do you use for your websites/web design? I use straight up HTML and it's the biggest pain in the behind ever... I need a lightweight GUI editor to make my web construction more efficient. PM me the details if you don't want to release them on the thread. Thanks and great story!
relient: I use Namo Editor - it's cheap and easy to learn for an idiot like me. energetic: you will pick up automatically as you go along, in forums, blogs, etc. As mentioned above, the Site For Sale areas at Digitalpoint and Sitepoint are great places to get ideas on what makes money and why they're successful. Every site is a case study because you're provided with all the info, i.e. revenue, traffic, etc.
Good one mate. Nice to see someone from singapore doing a good job. I was planning a webmasters meet in singapore. If you are up for it, let me know. we all can catch up.
Larry, congratulations from a fellow er.. Asean resident. (I'm from Singapore.) Is this revenue or net profit?
Great achievement of course... Congratulations... Would you like to share with us, how did you grow the forum that much in this short period? Thanks, Tim
Are you still working full time as a Civil Eng? Just wondering because I want to know if you pulled both off (or maybe even decided to quit)
adbie: revenue (i.e. excluding server cost). LastManStanding: thanks. I've explained most of it on my blog (links above). cpufreak3: I've been full-time on my websites since the selling the wallpaper site in 2005. I'm also an SEO consultant now.
I would like you give more details concerning your site and selling... But it's a good, very good profit!
Sounds like a success story, I'm noting your nickname down for a future interview on Scorpiono(dot)com cheers!
