    could this be the mystery behind my missing back links? After the PR update i lost almost 1000 backlinks, but today i noticed they were back

    Yup Google was bz in updating its index in previous three days, thats why many people notices there websites backlink gone to zero.

    i don't use link:
    since it shows a fraction of what you have there is no point.
    in webmasters tools it shows them all.i think it updates every couple weeks.
    on one site,the last update i lost 200,but on this one i gained 2000,so it's all good. :D

    Google webmasters tools is more accurate, but I love seeing more back links on my sites.

    My site www.alojate.com gained over 100 links :D

    Mine dumped in July, seemed to show less than it should. Today, they were cut in half... the dump in July was expected, cut some paid links. With this update, I hoped to see some of the better quality links show, if not back to a more expected quantity.
