Is it worthwhile to submit your domain to FFA (Free For All) sites?? I see several companies offering submittal services to these on a daily basis... does anyone (more importantly the big 3 search engines) check these?? Is it a waste or???

FFA can do more harm that good to your website so stay away from them.

FFA will probably lower your PR and risk you being penalized

I don't think FFA will have a negative impact on your website in any way, however I also doubt that it would help.

It wont hurt, otherwise everyone would be submitting the competition's website... so no, it's not going to have a major negative impact on your website.

However, your time is much better spent doing directory submissions as mentioned above. Once you are added to the directory, your link stays there forever! FFA links disapear in minutes, sometimes faster.

Don't waste your time with FAA or link farms.

PS: Directory links also send real traffic!

HOnestly: I wouldn't recommend submitting to them, especially if you don't have any "good links" and all the IBLs coming into your site wind up being from sources used to trick the search engines into believing that your site is worth being ranked.

The best way to see the ffa effect is to sign up to one with a throwaway email address. Within days there will be several hundred spams per day flooding into it. Since there are so many listings on these pages you will get little or no traffic from them. I know this from experience. Steer clear of FFA's.
