Apparently Pepperjam will be picking up ebay, I wonder if ebay will be keeping thier in-house program much longer, it certainly was riddled w/ problems.
are you saying pepperjam, will be managing ebay affiliates/tracking/commissions etc?? where did you hear this?
It seems like a lot of people are hoping this will be an answer to all the problems with the EPN. From what I can gather this program will still be reliant on EPN tracking, so I have my doubts that it will. I wish Ebay would go back to CJ. I know in doing this they'd be admitting defeat with the EPN, but it's pretty obvious to most people that the EPN was a failure. At least, it has been for the first two months.
I think PJ is just piggybacking on ePN. IOW, PJ is just another affiliate network being used by ePN. You can use their banners and text links etc., but you don't get campaign ID's etc. for your links from PJ like you did with CJ. Unless I'm wrong.....I would LOVE it if I could so it all through PJ instead of ePN.
So, what do all of those publishers that switched over and took it on the chin for 2 months do to recoup the obvious losses, nothing. would really suck to find out that we were all just part of a big learning curve or experiment.
I don't think EPN is going anywhere. The pepperjam post says their program "is supplemental to eBay’s recently launched partner network". That means that EPN isn't closing shop.
They should just go back to CJ... I never made so much cash!!! That was a pretty dumb move on their part!
There have been mentions of class action lawsuits by affiliates at the EPN forum (hosted by Ebay itself). Most have been people just blowing off steam. A little while ago, though, someone claiming to either be part of a lawfirm or having strong connection to a lawfirm started a post asking people to join a class action lawsuit. I suspect most of the people at the EPN forum will just make fun of this post and go on complaining about the problems. My personal thoughts are that it's going to take something like this to get Ebay to do something. I've said it before in the EPN forum, I just wish Ebay would acknowledge that there's a problem, and assure us they're going to get it fixed. I think a lot of the people who are experiencing problems have the feeling that Ebay isn't taking them seriously (myself included), and I think they're right.
The supposed threat of litigation is hardly an inducement for eBay to admit pubilcly that there's a problem. They've consistently denied that there's a problem with tracking, ACRUs, commissions, etc., blaming user error. In other words, they haven't even taken a neutral stance. I wouldn't expect that to change.
I could be wrong, but I think all pepperjam is really doing is consolidating all their affiliates and directing them through an EPN link with their campaign ID. The benefits being highly payout levels due to higher volume.
I have taken a major hit after switching over. I normally do anywhere between $20 and $200 in commission daily I switched over a 7 days before the deadline (May 31st) and so far to date I have $28. I average $2000 a month and the bad thing is I promote via PPC
4446 clicks, income =$0 Thats not normal for me. EPN has problems. And im not with them anymore. Glad im not getting my money taken from me.
I still don't understand why they even tried to make the change from CJ except for blatant greed. eBay had to be aware of all the affiliates who were using the API to create custom solutions, not to mention all the newbies who were using BANS. I have noticed that EPN *is* constantly talking about "quality sites" and "quality traffic" and it might have something to do with all the BANS sites that are nothing but the equivalent of Adsense MFA pages. Maybe eBay wanted control over the affiliates for that reason ??? because otherwise, I see no reason for eBay to kill their CJ cash cow. As the old saying goes "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" but there must have been some reason for eBay's apparently erratic decisions. agreed !!! agreed !!!
I think that statement should be revised to refer to some BANS sites and not all of them. While I agree that some are pretty thin there are those who really work on them to add useful content and provide value added. That's like saying that all sites using WordPress are MFAs, since most MFAs use WP. I would wager that there are many thousands more sites using the WP platform that are true MFAs than there are thin BANS sites. It's not the platform, but how it's used that makes the difference. Moreover, I don't think EPN will expire BANS sites that are generating Quality ACRUs along with sales.
