Driving Traffic to Image Host Sites?

How do you do this?

Forums I hear would be good, what methods would you use for getting forum members to use your hosting site? Or any other methods.

doin' a little DP search I found one smart way is to upload celeb pics to some of their fourms.

I would like to come up with a list of Types of Forums to dump our "relevent pics" on that get traffic.

- Porno forums: you would have to download vids somewhere, upload to rapidshare and extract the pics in some way.
- Celebrity forums: mentioned above
- Photography forums: Can I download Flickr picks and dump? (if their copyright just give credit to creator)
- Social forums: Post OMG look at this type stuff.

Other ideas?

 

I bought links on a few image hosting sites that went from 0 to 30K unique hits within a month so I think this could be pretty lucrative.

Mihalism looks like a great free script, and maybe a ppc campaign targeting free adult image host may be good, any other ideas?

 

The question is do you want to drive the people direct to your site so that they know it exists and begin using your site to upload their own images or do you want the raw traffic from hits directly to the images which to me is a waste of bandwidth.

I don't like this as surfers usually sign up for 4-5 different surfing sites and don't pay any attention to where they go, this is better for MLM.

 

That's oki. I can tell you a little secret then. Make a google sitemap of all your images and submit it. Poof mega traffic.

Make sure your images are keyword named and not random strings of numbers.

 

True, I do this with my blogs I would just need to make sure the script I use that allows me to name the pics, good tip.

 

Create a few link bait pages full of pictures hosted by your image site. Alt tag all the images to match a very popular search term, like "jessica simpson pictures". Between each image advertise your site: "these images hosted free at blahblah.com".

Then go social bookmark the heck out of it. The SE's will send you traffic for people looking for her pictures. It's one way to leech off a popular search term and get a little traffic, although not highly targeted.

I like this idea a lot because you can simultaneously promote your blog and your image host I use Digg every day but not so much the others; I think this would be a GREAT way to create lasting tag referenced URL's pointing to as you mentioned "celeb-based" pages which would be the most popular and searched for regularly, good idea mate.

Also contributing pics/replies in the MySpace forums may be a good source.
