I assume you have filed dispute through PayPal ? At least you can get something back. DP can only ban that guy.
you can ALWAYS - file a paypal dispute - file a credit card chargeback or did you send the money via WU?
AGREE - first get the big amount back... then pester because of interest... (he will pay you zero interest in the end if he also f*cked you with the link initially)
I think this is a lesson to all you. First get the service then pay. Its a real BAD idea to give some1 money over the internet in advance and especially that much money! You could also apart from filling a dispute and CC chargeback, sue him in court if you can prove he hasent complied with the agreement. So if you have those PM's and stuff keep them for a suit. Also you can get a lot more money from him over a suit as well as have him pay for your lawyers and court bill if you win!
This is ridiculous. I just got the following INFRACTION email from DigitalPoint: "Dear EducationLinks, You have received an infraction at Digital Point Forums. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=3169039#post3169039 Reason: ------- Attacking/Harassing Other Members ------- This infraction is worth 2 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire." Unbelievable. I get abused, and the moderator punishes ME? WTF is going on here? DP thinks I'm "attacking other members" because I posted about the guy who took $1,560 of my hard-earned money? I'm speechless at this point. I guess DP supports fraud and punishes victims. This also means that I will be forced to include DP in the lawsuit unless this absurd infraction is reversed. Who would try to silence me aside from a party who is involved with the fraud? DP is not legally responsible for the scams perpetrated by its members, but DP is responsible if proven to be condoning it afterwards. This action by DP simply blows my mind. -
I assume this is where DP loses credibility as a real online trading platform... I see only 2 options a) either the mods handle all problems (including a formal arbitration process) which they probably will/can never without charging service fees or b) they just keep silent in all such cases... but this imo simply SUCKS big times
that member is a 6+ months old member with over 250+ posts! but then trusting with $1500+ is not an easy thing to do! read the dp tos, mods and admins are not responcible to check scams, and there is no infractions for scamming! you should be smarter yourself, open a paypal dispute, and get a charge back, you will get the money in no time!
well fine that the rules say no infraction for scamming. but complaining about beging scammed gives you an infraction? thats retarded! but agree - paypal dispute will help.
It seems odd that he should do this, though. Scamming someone in this manner is a risk when he has the ability to easily perform the service that the buyer is demanding.
Education links, trust me i was burnt for 375 from a dp member last november so i feel your pain. Why did u pay that much when u could have hired a good seo to get ur site ranked high. My seo has currently taken a challenge from someone on the warriorforum to get his site up in the rankings. When(not if) hes successful i will post it for u. For just about that price he could have gotten you very good rankings in teh search engines. I can understand making revenue from selling links but i could never understand spending so much for links that are bought. Pm me and i will show u what he has done for clients so far man.
Wyla, even if he paid and the links go up, the guy can always take the links off. I have learned my lesson here that before i go into an aggreement for anything, i need to see a portfolio of past clients that werent ripped off. Philvault it was alot of money but what would u say if i told u that i was ripped off for 5000 grand many years ago.? Readytogo, you have to see things from the fraudsters point of view which is lways short term. He can now go on other boards and get other people to pay for links , then take the money and run without losing any pr from putting links up on his site. If he wants top 10 rankings he shouldnt concentrate on pagerank. There are trillions of high pagerank sites not ranking in the top 20 of google.
lots of folks are saying open a paypal dispute, quit screwing around and do it, the longer you wait, the harder it wll be to recover your losses.
How will a PayPal dispute affect his other debtors? I mean if EducationLinks opens a dispute they'll surely freeze his account - if they do that, what chance have others (like me) of getting refunded. In my case I'm talking less than $50, but if he's a bad egg I'd still like it back!
Really sorry to hear you lossing so much money. I guess it's a very expensive lesson learn here for all of us. Never pay until the service is done. But, think again, why would he run away if he really has a PR8 site. So strange?
