Noticed that my traffic coming from MSN nearly doubled over the last week for the same search terms. My position for this particular search term hasn’t changed, which shows me that some customers moving over to MSN for their searches.

Definitely. The current update transitions aside, I find Google generally superior but it really outperforms the others when it comes for academic research and informational searches.

No doubt Google is leading in that way.But i think they have to re-continue their Digital Library Project. It is great project no one has taken that initiative and definately Google will make the mark.

Nothing is perfect in this world.
But Google is considered as #1 among authorities.
    Most liked.
    Most used.
Most heavy ( in terms of indexes ) .
But MSN runners are not sleeping all the time. They have some +points over Google .But overall Google is ranked as 1st in SE family.

My traffic suddenly started picking up again yesterday, but it wasn't because of an improvement in my google serps. I had many more visitors from MSN, Yahoo & Dogpile, approx double my usual traffic from them (and no change in positioning on them).
I also had a little increase in Google traffic, about 50%, but when I checked it was people reaching pages 15-20 to find us.

I'm not going to read too much into it because it's only one day of results but seems like people are adapting to the irrelevant sites coming up in the first pages of Google, or the mega-sites like Amazon & Ebay, and either searching further or actually jumping over to other SE's

Personally, I've always preferred Google for research etc, clean and easy as everyone has said. I'd be reluctant to switch SEs for my own searches but certainly will do if the quality doesn't return

Google has started rivalry with Microsoft and that will become another reason for its downfall.

Google is no more a little start-up company started by two bored students. Google is a $80 bln corporation, microsoft is only 4 times bigger.
My guess is that google will be the first for many years to come.
Also, don't forget that microsoft lost a lot of cases too. For example remember the case with Lindows?

BTW, I've got a friend working at Microsoft and he said that Microsoft is going to be taugh on Google, but I'm not afraid for them..
