I am thinking about buying a domain name but am not sure which would be better out of these 2 examples. 1st domain is a dot com with no hyphens, 2nd has a hyphen & is a dot net.

    Example 1: AaaBbb.com
    Example 2: Xxx-Bbb.net

Aaa is not a keyword that anyone would search for.
    Bbb is a keyword
Xxx is a keyword as well

Benefit of example 1 is that it would be easy to remember & is a dot com, while example 2 would have 2 keywords that people would search for.

If you were buying a domain, which would you go for & why?

From the two option you mention I would decide according to your planned marketing strategy.

In case you would base your strategy mainly on SEO, then I would go for www.keyword1-keyword2.net , as this will help you in your SEO efforts and the domain name will be not that important as people will click to your site through search engine results.

In case you will do non-SEO marketing (non-internet publicity and internet image banners) then a combination www.prettyword-keyword1.com would be more suitable. People will easily remember your's site name and make less typos when typing it in the browser url window.

There are other issues to consider like domain names of your competitors, registred brand names, typo probabality, plural/singular form etc.

Thanks for the replies. I will still do some more searching for other domain names before making any decisions.
