Jihad does not mean holy war. Secondly, there is an equivalent to holy war, in Judaism as well. Just throwing out that fact.
Kashmir, its a political struggle. Taliban, its a political struggle. Hezbollah, a political struggle, Czechen, a political struggle

If you can find a verse in the Quran where it says that Russia shouldn't occupy any other countries, I would give you all the sites I owned, a considerable total monetary value.
Happy hunting, but don't pull a dick cheney

GTech, you are blinded, as much of the American public is. Those who are friends today are terrorists tomorrow. America gave Iraq aid in the Iran-Iraq war, but now they are terrorists.
American paid off Osama to take out Saddam, but now they aren't so good buddies.
And so on. The American definition of terrorists is anyone they don't like. Maybe France will be the new terrorists? i knew those fries were radioactive.
On the subject of Jose Padilla/Guantanamo Bay. US is using the exact same tactics that they denounce, torturing others in Europe, use of torture in G-Bay, not allowing basic access to human facilites, blocking aid groups, humiliation and psychological torture, it goes on.

Iran: You say that its a country that wants to commit genocide. Israel, a country that is trying to wipe Palestinians off the face of the earth. Its apartheid, in a nice way of putting it.

Saddam did a lot of wack stuff, but the US is doing it the same.

Have you ever examined the negative side of America, GTech?

I swear I'm gonna get an infraction, triple post, but I do love my country.
However, I dislike the policies of the american government, and George Bush in particular. I would rather be in this country than in 99% of countries in the world.

People lose legitmacy when they specifically go after innocent people. Whether you want to call that terrorism or not, doesn't matter.

To me 'terrorism' is just a word.

I prefer to think ot the war of ideas or blood in terms of a broader concept. Those whom favor a limited but reasonable active government vs those whom favor a monolithic or incredibly centralized government.

Democrats and Republicans have their faults, but they don't spill my brother's blood. Others out there, no matter the movement....are after innocent blood, with little or no reason. They want something I do not want, and I think most people don't want.

The D&R's will hopefully withdraw to reason, and I'm sure in some cases they do. The outsiders, whom want no part of reason or debate...well, they get no debate...they get nothing.

When did the US pay osama to take out saddam??? Proof please...

Also, the american definition of terrorist is not "anyone they don't like"...as I remember, 9/11 was not our fault...furthermore, terrorism is all about power. Yes, the US has helped other countries in the past, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. However, the idiots that ran those countries (or those that overthrew the govt) had a hunger for power. Since the US has power (notice I didn't say all the power), they thought that the US would make a good target....mentality of a terrorist. If we can take out the top country, then we will be the top, right? That is where they got it wrong. They stepped in their own pile of sh**. All we are doing right now is smearing their faces in it.

Someone might want to let this guy in on the new memo:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070220/ap_on_re_as/afghan_war_crimes
Interestingly enough, an article from FrontPage Mag came out today on this very subject:

    http://frontpagemagazine.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=27031
    Video on Jihad here.

Just in case anyone is interested in a non-whitewashed point of view.

I have to read the second article first, but notice that holy war is in parantheses, which means it was added by the editor. Yahoo is not the most brilliant place, ...

Do you have a source that shows FOX news made the word up? Or were just invoking the Fox News card in general?

Nearly two million hits on google disagree with you:

    http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&q=jihadists&btnG=Google+Search

Looks like a number of islamic sites at the very top of search results here, clearly identify "jihad" as "holy war" .

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=+jihad++"holy+war"&btnG=Search

No, it's not the serps that say it, they just expose the islamic sites that are saying it.

Still not convinced, in the presence of overwhelming information to the contrary?

Well, its usually FOX news. Its become a generic term for the republican idiots

"ABC" is not a word either, but it has a whopping 180 million hits on Google. Look at that
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=abc

As for your second link, where you searced jihad and holy war together, which obviously skews the results, only 2 links are from Muslim organizations.
    I'll quote Wikipedia here
