    Guys,
Do "do-follow' blogs help you build Technorati Authority? I posted some comments yesterday and still nothing...
    What are you Technorati strategies?

Best of luck to all of you.

You do not gain authority from comments, unfortunatly.

Yep you only get authority for in content links. If you received authority for comments then many spam blogs would be on the top of technorati.

A comment on a blog with a link embedded should pass authority as far as google is concerned - are you only talking about Technorati?

I'm curious to understand whether Technorati basically reads back-links the same way Google bots do?

No. Technorati Authority is not influenced by links from the comments sections of blogs.

If you're having trouble getting inbound links from other bloggers based solely upon your content, start networking with the other writers in your niche. Post thoughtful comments in their articles, and link out to their quality content once in a while (and then make sure to follow that link yourself a few times so they notice it in their analytics). They'll be more inclined to reference your posts.

How much Technorati authority would you consider a really strong site? I mean, is 350 strong? 500? 1000? Obviously, I know that if 350 is strong, the other two are also. I'm just wondering where it starts.

They only count links inside a post and links from the Homepage which includes the blogroll.

Via another thread here at DP, we did discover that they will count links from the Top Commentator list in the sidebar too. There is also some discussion about the possibility that footer links from the homepage may get counted, but I have not seen any proof of that.

So, in a round-about way, yes. If you make enough comments on a blog using the TC plugin, you will gain authority at Technorati for your link in the TC list.

To be honest I do not think Technorati rank really means a whole lot. I have a few high traffic blogs with an authority rank of only 10-30. I have seen websites that don't even get an eighth of the traffic some of mine do and they will double up on me with technorati rank. Unless you are in the top 100 it doesn't mean that much but maybe I just don't understand the real value in it.

dofollow blogs will not count to your technorati. Find some blogs that has a top commentator and comment on it and you would see that your technorati will increase.

Great guys. LAtely, I have gotten many people linking to me yet only a couple show up as Technorati links. Is there any way for me to 'register' that link to technorati?
