Disable Rep in Freebie section please

The freebie section looks like it turned into a forum to gain reputation on the forums. People are just giving away stuff just to get rep.

Think they should have to earn it.

So I vote to make rep count as 0 in freebie forum. If someone really wants to give something away then they shouldnt expect anything in return.

    * note - I dont know if it is disabled but I dont post there. But by the looks of it, it is enabled.

Good idea, I have seen newbies reaching over 100 rep points in matter of days after giving away stuff when most of us with long time here are going slow with real deals, not fake reputation.

Good idea aaron - I don't suppose it would get around the problem completely because people could just hop to a previous post outside of freebies and leave rep. Would definitely be a step in the right direction.

Well, giving out reputation is always optional. Otherwise, it's not allowed. So I think there's no use in doing that. IMO

Unless there is a way to decrease the value of rep points on a forum, I don't think it should be touched.

No, I mean like only people with more than 500 rep points for example are allowed to give rep in a certain forum.

I think iTrader is disabled for freebies already. I seem to remember a few sales threads got mixed up with freebies at the beginning and there was trouble with iTrader on those 'lost' threads.

I agree with Aaron but I think only experienced users should be able to rep. People are saying rep is mandatory just to get the item, and that shouldn't be the reason for giving out rep.

Yeah, that would definitely be nice but I guess a number of people who offers freebies just want to get reps. Once you remove that option, the number of listings would inevitably fall or people may find other ways to get rep like getting them to rep other post outside of the freebie section.

In the end, the 'buyer' in this case has the option to rep or not to rep.

If I want a abuse the DP rep system and dont want to be in attention of mods, I would go to Freebie section and spread some free stuff!
