If you sell Shareware or buy them, you will have heard of Digital River. They are probably the largest Payment Processor which service the Shareware Developer industry. Big names like Symantec and Computer Associate uses them. They have been actively acquiring other Shareware Payment Processor such as Regnow.com , Regsoft.com and SWReg.com. They are definitely very credible and trusted in the industry. I have been using them for over 9 years and they have never miss a payment.

I have not tried eTrade Bank as yet but they are probably one of the largest online based Stockbroking firm in the US. They can definitely be trusted. I did not know they allow non-US Residents to open a bank account because all I see on their website are services to open bank account for US Residents.

We have had a few merchants sign up with eTrade for a bank account. It takes some time but they have been successful. Also check with some of your local banks. They might have a relationship with a United States bank. This will help to satisfy the YKYC (you know your customer) regulation.

Otherwise, you will need to fly out to the United States. You do not need a social security number to open a bank account in the United States unless it is interest bearing. If they require one, they must post a sign on the entrance stating so.

Thanks all for the responses . I really appreciate , That means i can go ahead with digital river , though am really new, but am ready to explore the market opportunity . I want to have the exclusive marketing right in my country and I would deliever.
For etradebank.com , i will continue my research.
Does anyone know of how the email to sms alert concept by yahoo , thats mobile alrt work using the revesre billing method. I mean technically, my main question is does it involve A GSM MODERN to be inplace or the email server just directly hooked to the various mobile operators gateway. I am thinking of a similar project , but in localised way for Nigerians alone or afaricans subsequently

Mobile Content Numbers... ringtone/wallpaper directly to phone, direct billing? might help you out some. Clickatel and BulkSMS are also some companies to check out (depending on your exact needs).

oluwatosin - it's probably a good idea to have a separate thread for each question. The person who can answer the first question may not be able to answer the second. But the person who can answer the second won't be reading it because they don't know about the first - understand?

FWIW: regnow have been good, we're trialling clickatell who have a very good reputation and hostgator does seem to have a good market share and price plan.
