?

Should Yahoo be removed from the ODP if they are bought?

It would seem that you have not had that cup of tea yet, and you are still flapping your jaw up and down without engaging your gray matter. I would have thought that starting a thread and a poll based on a falsehood just to stir people up would be about as troll-like as a troll can get. Anyhow, you all have a nice day, I'm going to follow Mr Jones out of the building.

Well, that's certainly spot on isn't it!

And you are correct, I have not had my tea yet, but then, it is also perfectly clear you have not read that other thread beyond the first post.

Maybe you could read it while I go put on the kettle?

Oddly many posts back I listed several domains some of which not only changed owner but content also (which can be easily checked via web archive) and they are still listed with same description as before, so much for editors discretion.

What a polite post you quoted, Ivan :)

However you know very well where you can report such a listings - use "update request" or post here: http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5453

Let we dont hijack Q's work - will be difficult to comment why sold sites are deleted/are not deleted in one thread - you can discuss this with him :D

Will give you one example - arabicnews.com is for sale. If they really sell it, and IF the new owner changes his scope/pages will delist it immediately.

Dont see any problem with this, what about you?

I did make few "update requests" so if they are not visible it means some editor decided to skip it instead of doing his/her work.

Then why was website which I bought instantly delisted seconds after I announced I own it now? Changes I've made were minimal and are actually improvement of existing content:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20070106205327/http://www.calradia.com/
    http://web.archive.org/web/20070618035309/http://www.calradia.com/

And category which was in pretty good shape before my removal now looks like Al-Qaeda bombed it. :(

Probably you know that we are volunteers? Personally I dislike the word "job" using in relation with editing ;)

Immediately? Are you claiming to be victim?

You know that we dont discuss particular sites. If you expect answer like "World Conspiracy against Ivan"...you wont receive it - there are 9 deeplinks of vojska.net. And will increase them soon, because its a good site, with valuable information. So no conspiracy :p

Please, dont point me old threads here - I am writer, not reader :)

Will appreciate some more materials about Romanian, Yugoslavian, Albanian and Bulgarian participation in WW II.

You write about it as though WWII were past tense, Ivan still believes it is being fought with ODP meta editors wearing the Nazi uniforms.

Nonsense. It's a matter of record that WWII ended in 1945.

Those Nazi uniforms that certain DMOZ editors are (allegedly) wearing has nothing to do with WWII. If anything, they would be related to the more modern Neo-Nazi nostalgia movement.

Notwithstanding the certain meta editor who looks rather fetching marching around in her tight fitting leather neo-nazi costume I find this hard to believe. Actually I only joined the ODP on Ivan's assurance that it was Stalinist organization an if you think I am going to get rid if the drab Soviet era costumes that he sold me you are mistaken.

I don't believe I know since I was the one who sold it to them. ;)

Got my hands on some original Chinese outfits (ignore that made in Pakistan thing)? Do you want to dress like chairman Mao and lead the great leap forward at DMOZ? :D

Not my fault, that Pakistani guaranteed they won't dissolve after first wash.

Strange words coming from someone who lives in Balkans, now lets get back to business of shooting at Turks or was it Greeks? Who cares...

You find what hard to believe exactly, nebbie? That World War II is over?

You need to learn to read more carefully...

I do not delist a site if it is sold as long as the site's content is not drastically changed and still have the qualifications for being listed in the directory.
