Is than any advantage or disadvantage to using a sub domain for content as apposed to a directory?

    for example (in the title)

    widgets.buystuff.com

    or

    butstuff.com/widgets/

do robots treat them the same?

    thanks

It Treats Different because the first one treats as sub domain....

    Agree.. they are different domains.

I am cleaning up the www.domain.com and domain.com mess on my website right now. Use sub directories.
