Why on earth does ANYONE need another list like this? There are already probably several hundred around the net, including several here at DP.

So ...its a directory of all the directories that list all of the directories - hah sweet

Thats what early manufacturers cried about additional automobile makers - but thats what has spurred the development of every advancement of automiive manufacturing - price, amenities, luxury, class, accessories, etc etc - its part of what makes America so great.

Wrack your brain developing something from scratch - perfecting it - and someone can come along next season - add one feature & wrap it in a new package and call it their version only new & improved ;)

I think this would never stop becasuse everyone wants his own topic about his directory with all replies along the lines of "added one. Thanks!" he he

Which is why Alucard's suggestion of splitting this forum into "Directories Discussion" and "Promoting Directories" is a good one, I think...

That is a good suggestion. May I add one more split to that and suggest "Complaining About Directories." This would be an area to vent when your tired of seeing directories pop up that have had very little thought or effort go into making them unique.

Agreed, and my site is the 1st one mentioned in this thread. Someone should compile the lot and turn it into a sticky (I was previously against that idea, but it looks like its needed) OR peeps should just do a search, and find the threads.

    (good idea)

Hehehe that forum would fill up pretty quick if my email inbox is anything to go by :D

I have a great deal of trouble viewing this site. No matter what browser I use there is overlapping text all over the place that makes most of it unreadable. Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me? Thanx..

same here, but then firefox is acting weird on my connection. If I log onto Google Adsense, the submit button is way of screen, and I must scroll horizontilly to get to it. when I hold the button down (before releasing it), all content repositions itsself correctly.. weird.

It seems ok for me (home page anyway): IE6, SP2, 600 x 800 display, IE window maximized.

I don't think it's unnecessary duplication, imitation, copycat-ism, and plagiarism that makes a country great, myself... but whatever turns your crank.

i made a list of directories which can be found at http://www.seosquare.com/directory-list/index.htm. personaly when it comes down to it i didnt make this to just to try to get my piece of the pie so to say. i made it mostly for myself. i compiled several other of the larger lists to be found that claimed to be se friendly. then i made enchancements to that list. if no one else gets use out of it so be it. but i might as well provide it to the public instead of hoarding a great tool.

sure it would be nice if there was one list somewhere that offered what we all want, but that will never happen, just like theres never going to be one car that the world will be happy with. options are what make people happy. differnt lists have differnt options. mine keeps track of what link youve clicked and returns a page listing which you submitted to. almost everythign humanity creats is from anothers idea, or atleast the forming of that idea. it is the american way to grow, and to make what exisits better. its called evoloution. your question has a obivous anwser, why ask such questions? are you just trying to get your post count up? or maybe just pushing your opinion... either way :)
