Wow, I wonder if user feedback will eventually start affecting SERPs now. Was it only on the 1st search result? What about the 11th?

I wonder if a site gets a lot of no's if they just move down a few notchs or get dropped off the charts for that word. I guess it could also trigger a person at google to look at the site for black hat activity.

Hmm..how many people are going to check out the site then go back and select "Yes" or "No". Proably not too many..I wouldn't.

Then how many are going to select and answer without first clicking the link and finding out if it was useful?

Kind of interesting that only result #1 has that. Basically Google saying "we know almost everyone clicks the #1 result so let's only tag that one" What about the rest of the SERPs? Those arent SPAMMY?

Makes me wonder if this is real or not.

I've noticed this about 2-3 weeks ago. It turned up for every result for me, however I don't see it anymore when I search today.

Google really puts lot of effort to be the BEST search engines. For us webmaster, it means we have to build good website for visitors i.e. not those spammy ones otherwise our visitors will simply put a bad name to our sites.

Don't be surprised if they start including something similar INLINE on your adsense ads:

Ads by Google .....................................Was this site useful [y] / [n]?

I was thinking the same thing, except from a competitor's point of view. What's to stop them from getting mass clicks of your site "not being useful"?

i have seen it few times and I think it is good to have it if the top ranking site is unrelated or giving you an information or shall we say just an MFA site, bad thing is that, good site on the top can drop in the engine.

Unless they start approving a drop manually.

Yeah it's a dangerous concept. If I'm checking my rankings and I show up as number 2, what's to stop me from clicking that no button? If everyone below me does that as well, then that top site could drop like a rock. That is IF Google were to use it that way.
