    Nothing more can say: :)

I think its hard to take care of all the reported threads, so increasing manpower in moderating team will be effective, most probably :)

Maybe moderators are so busy answering PMs and eMails they do not have enough time to scan the forum with a fine tooth comb. The place is huge. As members, we have got to keep on sending in reports on the baddies. I do a lot of browsing in the content creation-bst section, and it's enough to keep two moderators steady on it's own  (I think).

So, absolutely yes to what you said about more manpower :)

We will most probably see new moderators in couple of weeks. AFAIK, staff is considering adding some moderators. There was a thread created for nomination by Jeremy, but got deleted the other day. :)

I think paid moderators/admins would work, and the money for that payment should be a subscription to the B/S/T section, e.g. $5 /month which could be managed by vb itself.

$5 a month is nothing to anyone on here

I think you seriously need an employment section and freelance marketplace for DP. If this is where the best of the best in the industry gather to exchange ideas, then surely you would attract huge attention from recruiters and employers.

Im offering to use my custom developed job board for this purpose, who's with me?

It is to me. :) The great thing about DP is you don't have to pay. I hope it stays free.

Ya I agree, increase the number of post required for the BST section. Increase it to 50-100.

Whichever, 25 post is just too little. Its like a easy way in for scammers.

Why would you need to raise funds to pay moderators, when there are countless members on here that would do it for free?

Some people get annoyed waiting until 25 posts, it will get a little crazy if that is doubled.

i don't think that would make much of a difference, in a thread a while back a member with 5 or 10 posts applied for a job and the op said that the guy has way too low post count, the guy replied the 2nd day having 100+posts saying "so can i apply now? its so easy to make more posts"

i just wanna add, the Services Section is FLOOOODED with "directories and social bookmarking submissions services" when you create a thread in the services section, 10 mins later its gone to page2 because of those 500 threads offering the same damn Directory submission services, IMHO i really think we should add a section called "Submission Services" just for those.

    cheers.

IMO it would be a good idea to forbid the sale of email address lists....everyone knows how those emails were got and for what they will be used(SPAM)

    cheers,

Ok I will bring this up again as it looks like no one is doing anything about it.

    From this thread:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=658152

    It seriously is getting annoying.

My best suggestion is to prevent the sales of illegal digital products which people are ripping off other sites.

Is there any progress in any future changes ? I think there are several changes discussed in the thread already.

Starting with money exchanges and virtual credit cards was great

Sorry mate, got to disagree with you there, I personally would pay $50 a month for the service, but lets face it $5 IS a lot of money to a lot of the people on this forum (ok, perhaps not most of us lucky enough to be using sterling on euros, or at least live in the USA) but there are still a LOT of people that use rupees etc and have an extremely unfavourable exchange rate.

as for paid moderators, I dont think its entirely appropriate as it would create a huge amount of implied improprieties with people saying that mods had gone power mad, and people trying to get their positions.

In my opinion the board SHOULD be regulated by non paid volunteers, and people should just not complain.

I would be happy being a MOD even if it did take an hour a day to wade through the cr*p - as I feel that DP adds significantly to my life on the internet.

I think that if more members helped to self regulate the BST section it could become an even better place...

    • Giving negative iTrader when and where it's needed
    • Using the Reputation system as it should
    • Rating threads with bad deals or scams
    • Using the report feature to notify the mod team of problems/issues

the problem with that is most people want to keep their itraders clean, and issuing a negative invariably results in receiving a negative.. But I do agree people should do this more.

Yep, more people should neg.rep..... I agree totally.
I must confess I hadnt thought of this, but at the same time I pay little attention to a threads rating. Perhaps if the scale were changed to reflect a low score being a "suspected fraudulent deal" might be an idea. hmmm. need to think about that.

I do that quite a lot, although I must also confess that I worry sometimes that I might get infracted for wasting mods time. I realise there are a lot of posts here on the forum and it concerns me that we dont give the mods too much work to do regulating them all.

    :)
