Hey Guys (& gals too :))

There are quite a few threads opening up every day in the web hosting section, claiming to offer Unlimited space & unlimited bandwidth for pennies.

5-6 people signup for each offer & then 2 months later come back to complain that the host disappeared with their data & their money.

    Example threads -
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=634954
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=602759
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=658039
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=652741
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=653074

You then have threads blasting OSHQ.com & other such companies.

IMO, to avoid all this, we can just go the WHT way, by banning such threads from being created. This will save members from being scammed, thus lesser fights in the threads (which are eventually in General Chat section) & lesser work for the moderators.

What do you guys think ?

    Thanks
    Ishan

    Hey,

I couldn't agree more! Not only unlimited hosting, but also these "One time payment for life" webhosting companies! Like Shoutserv.. :(

I feel sorry for everyone that has been scammed during the years..

    Thanks,
    Freddy

I was just about to post this looks like you beat me too it. Can someone please make a sticky that UNLIMITED/UNMETERED threads are not allowed? It's getting really annoying. Members buy Unmetered resellers from DP and then sell Unmetered plans from their resellers. I hope someone does something about this.

    I agree.

Get rid of all those unlimited or one time fee threads as people just get scammed by them.
