Hi, Just signed up for DP today and so far I'm loving this site! Well I have a blog setup (my first one) and I'm now in the research stages of how to increase traffic to the site. It's a very niche market with little to no competition, so I have that in my favour. I want to learn more about marketing blog sites so I'm looking for ebooks that cover basic to intermediate techniques. I have a background in marketing and advertising (that's my dayjob), but it's very much based in print marketing and event support, with very little web experience. Can anyone recommend some good ebooks for me? I have no problem paying for them, I just want to make sure I get the good ones. I'm looking for ebooks with strong long-term solutions, rather than tricking people into coming to my site (i.e. pretending to be a hot girl on myspace and spamming) I realize almost all the information in the books will be found on the forums for free, but I simply don't have the time to sort through hundreds or thousands of posts. Also I'd appreciate it if you replied in this thread, rather than PM. I'm just a bit leery of suddenly getting tons of "special ebook offers" from random people. Thanks everybody! Visit the site in my signature. I have a blog which is PR6, gets over 1,500 uniques a day, tons of comments and has been featured in national and international press - how did I do it? Simple - write unique content that people would be interested in reading and linking to. Write useful comments on blogs, not spam. Put your blog in the signature and on the RSS feed on DP and other forums.
Hi, I agree, DP looks to be a great source. However I'm looking for more of a beginners guide that summarizes everything. My main issue is time, because my blog is done on top of my full time job, and right now I'm focusing on the content. That leaves me very little time to search through various threads to find information. Therefore I'm looking for a book or ebook that I can print out and read while I'm on the subway to work that gives me a basic overview of marketing for blogs. Then when I go on the forums I'll be able to research more productively. I'll check out your sites, thanks!
Don't know an ebook that would cover the stuff you are after, but one okay ebook is in sale here. I suppose it's worth the $10 bux and gives some advice you might be after. I wrote one lengthy thread in the past, the link is in my signature if you wish to check it out. I suppose it could as well.
