Can someone please explain this process to me like I'm an idiot? I understand from the SEO Book article on it basically how it works, you use {KeyWord:MYKEYWORDHERE} but I'm trying to figure out how it can help in my marketing strategy. EXAMPLE: I have a software product that can be used on multiple types of hardware... My keyword list is similar to this blue widgets device1 cheap blue widgets device2 buy download blue widgets device3 How can I use keyword insertion to insert the wide range of hardware types into the title of my ad copy automatically so they are bolded? My ad copy looking similar to this: Download {KeyWord:device1} {KeyWord:Cheap} Now! Download and install blue widget on your PC or MAC in 30 seconds flat. DO I have to insert over 20 device keyword insertions into my title like {KeyWord:device1} {KeyWord:device2} {KeyWord:device3} {KeyWord:device4} {KeyWord:device5}... etc? Please help.
Check this out if you haven't already. Good summary of DKI. I think I see what you're trying to do, you may need to rethink your ad group / keyword structure. As an example let's say you sell widgets. keyword list (exact matched): blue widgets red widgets sparkly widgets yellow widgets Ad Headline Buy {KeyWord:Widgets} Cheap So someone searching for your terms would be presented with the correct ad. The key to getting DKI working to your advantage is structuring ad groups properly. Make sense? Apologies if I am misunderstanding what you're trying to accomplish.
K I think you see where I'm going. And I think what you're showing me is that I can't do what I'm trying to do I guess to really get at the meat of what I'm saying and simplify my question: How is Buy {KeyWord:Widgets} Cheap any different from putting Buy Widgets Cheap? I mean if the user searches for: "smooth widgets to download" They would both display Buy Widgets Cheap wouldn't they? And if a user searched for "buy somethingelse" and I used Buy {KeyWord:Widgets} Cheap it would just show without the keyword like Buy Cheap right?
Using my sample keyword list, if a user searched for yellow widgets the ad headline would read: Buy Yellow Widgets Cheap. Without DKI it would just buy Buy Widgets Cheap. If using my keyword as the example the user in this case would just see Buy Widgets Cheap. No, the word/phrase after the : in DKI is the default text. If your actual keyword is not inserted the default text is always used. The ad would read Buy Widgets Cheap.
