With my numerous sites, only one thing seemed to truly help C** and that was my adsense had to blend in, and look just like the sites content. Colored, bright, or stand-out adsense, did almost nothing.

But yet, you really need to tweak almost daily. I have had adsense since Christmas, and I don't believe a day has gone by that I havent tweaked some site.

You have lots of PSA on your pages so don't wonder. Try to add some content on those pages and see what happens.

I only see Public Service Ads on your homepage. You have to work on optimizing your page to serve some real ads.

I agree with blending to increase CTR. You can move your adsense to the center area with the same text color of your site, and white background and no borders. I'm sure it will help.
    good luck

What's your current CTR? It may be that you have already done the most and there is nothing to improve.

I just noticed your website in the signature. How much is your CTR at this website? http://www.onestop-directory.com/ And how much do you make a week?

My CTR is over average (comparing with my other sites) but not too high, and I make enough to keep the site up and running. :)

You will make more $$ and more CTR with more traffic!
No traffic no CTR no $$!

Try to put some ads in between the content. The unit on top is useless.

Maybe because it is much later in the day that I am reading this thread, but I see commercial Google ads on your interior pages, that are relevant to the pages' topics. The ads look well integrated; if anything IMO, too well integrated :) , but as others have said perhaps move them up more to initial eye level, and keep careful records of what you tweaked when, and the effect on CTR.
Critters et al, have helped me tremendously; and the thread he mentioned was a real lesson for me as I am pretty new to this stuff. Highly recommended.

It is depressingly cynical, but have you thought about emphasizing more pages like your page on Whiplash injuries; which I noticed has all lawyers ads and no ads for analgesics at all?

Edit - Hmm, I guess it was obvious to me as I was writing it, but maybe not to everyone else; the reason for the last suggestion is simply that a few clicks on the higher paying CPM's takes off a bit of pressure relative to the effort of increasing the raw overall CTR rate.

PSAs don't count, and I think the reason you get PSAs is because of the word 'sex', it must be a banned word in Google.
I used to get PSA in one of my pages(it's a poetry website) and it was because the title of the poem is called 'Until the World cracks'. Google serves PSA cos it detected the word 'cracks'. So i renamed the poem and now ads are showing well:)

Maybe you need to explain to Google that your site is not a porn site

LOL...that happened to me as well. Stupid adsense :p
I run a blog and I definatly need to try putting ad blocks at the end of each article. I guess it's worth a shot.

I have never visited a site before with so many PSAs! You must be one of the unluckiest Affliate Marketers on earth! :) That aside, the first thing i would do is set an alternative ad (e.g. using commission junction) so that your advertising space is not being completely wasted. Read more about alternate ads here in the google help files -

    https://www.google.com/support/adse...&ctx=en:search&query=alternate&topic=0&type=f

You just need to define the other ad in a htm file. Its not too difficult. I am doing it on some of my sites.

    Cheers :)
