I'm quite new, but I like the idea of a tutorial forum. I think it could be useful to this community.

I'll just make a big quote of your post, ok? Well, any discussion is just one step away from transforming into a debate, that if you try to propose an idea that is not necessarily a general understanding of a matter. I am not attacking anyone, I am just entertaining a conversation, believe me I have nothing against you, I'm a web developer and spend my spare time on forums while my g-f is away.

But if you react like that to everything then you've got a weak point. Bad for business.

Think it that way. There is only one person on this forum who can decide, guess who.

Now, if you believe that a tutorial forum idea is not that easy to pass, why not start a tutorial thread instead. If it picks up interest, then you may hope for a sticky, and if that sticky continues to attract attention, then you can come up with the idea of "A Tutorial Forum".

That's how people prove their ideas worth something. Something that works on a different forum may fail on another. You might be facing a totally different audience over here.

By the way, what's your forum URL? Google didn't help much searching for "LEIA", sorry.

No and no, even if i was the owner i wont act any different then shawn is right now, i'd shut out all the crappy ideas that make just more hassle for everyone + spammish serps for dp.

And opinions are opinions, we dont encourage them but people want to post them anyway to feel good about themselves.

Already covered this in Da Rules

It's not my forum, I'm a mod (Arwen) on that forum.

Gnet, there's no need to attack me with your rules. I'm not the only one who thinks that a tutorial forum would be good. If you still don't understand what I'm saying, then I don't know how else to explain it. And again, I wanted know the opinions. Your opinion - crappy, my opinion - good. That's it. No need to spew all this sh*t out on me.

Could a mod please close this thread? I see where this is going...

    Thanks

hehe not attackin ya sweety, sorry if it seemed like it, i know these are just opinions, but this fuels threads like "can i be a mod" - "can we have paid listings in dp?"

just trying to avoid further spam here.

once again sorry if ya thought i was attackin ya.

Hehe, although I only have 800 posts, I'm not new to this. ;) I have over 4,000 posts on another webmaster forum, cos I found it earlier than DP. :)

And I don't want to sound newbyish (sp?) when I'm posting a thread like this. I wasn't saying we MUST have a tut forum, I only wanted to hear what other people think, whether they agree with me or not.

Anyway, this can be closed now I assume

hehe tough luck, all mods are off atm lol (oy, didnt see smyrl there)

but not saying it was noobish (sp!) im just saying the way things are done at dp are unique and are infact NEVER done anywhere else on the net.

This is a down right kick in da arse if ya screw up kinda forum hehe

oh and post count doesn't matter at all until people still benefit from it, for example every guy who reads this will know it that ill be there like the freaking grim reaper if they as so much as post a "why did i get an infraction" or "make dp paid" type threads hehe

It does indeed! ;) Well, which member would you trust, the one who has over 1,000 posts or only 2? :D lol Of course, older members are always more 'experienced' then the others, but not all newbies are stupid. ;)

P.S. This is not closed yet?

Hehe yea, untill it is closed, ima haunt you.
Well its not about trusting the person with the most posts, its about trusting a person who understands what dp is lookin for.

Trust me, i made several suggestions, then finally got what dp was all about, same day someone someone turned gay here at dp (not saying who). - damnit people should stop coming outta the closet on me already >.<

    Down right straight forward work.
anything to make work easier on the staff here at dp is acceptable and or the community where its been voted on unanimously is preferred.

in other words, anything that effects the mainstream of this community's main niche/service.

    edit

we don't really look into details, here tutorials belongs to graphics which belongs to templates which belongs to designing which belongs to development which belongs to general business which belongs to dp...

thats way too much deep into a niche there..

    get it?
