4 letter .com domains available now

Today went looking for 4 letter .com domains that are available to register now.
The list is incomplete, as it will be over several days that I put all the 4 letter .com domains onto the site.

I ran up the list, put the list into .txt form, and then sent it to my recycle bin!
Just forgot to upload the list!!!

See that quite a few of each list have been downloaded in past 48 hours.

Just put up list number 8 of the 4 letter .com domains that are available.

May put up list number 9 later this evening.

Then that will be it until Monday.

 

What i dont understand is.. why people love these 4 letter domains.. i mean whats the use if the domain doesnt have a meaning

 

Lots of good reasons to have a four letter domain.
Take msn (microsoft)...all the msna to msnz domains are taken.
Maybe by msn...

Have a company that can be abbreviated down into 4 letters? Like msn?

How about the k's?
Lot of those are taken as those are radio station 4 letter domains.

The whole idea on any domain name, 4 letter or 64 letter, is to get one that works for your business or personal website.

It seems that I was early in my estimation of 60,000 4 letter names remaining. The real number is quite a few more than that. Iowadawg do you know the total number left?

Why the interest in 4 letter names?

1) Pick any four letters. Type them into your browser, add .com . See how easy that is? Would you not be more likely to type that name than a long one? More likely not to make an error when typing, more likely to write it down? Businesses are well aware of this.

2) Take a look at the prices for three and two letter .coms .

3) It is really hard to get a grasp on what is a good investment in the domain market. Good .coms just about do not exist at low prices. The four letter sub-market is much easier to learn for those without years of experience. If there is a large influx of wall-street type investors to the domain market (as some are wishing for), short domains will likely get a lot of their attention for that reason - you at least have some idea of what you are buying.

4) Sales of 4 letter coms in the mid $$ are common, and sales of seemingly random 4 letters for $,$$$ and $$,$$$ happen enough to keep everybody interested. A 4 letter that I almost bought a year ago now has the website of a law firm with those initials. They likely would have paid a lot for that name, and they are not going to be interested in alternatives.

5) The number of names left is shrinking quickly. One year or two and they will all be taken. Or an investor could buy the lot at any time, for what would be a minor amount of money, as those things go. Then you have a closed market and prices likely will rise.

6) It is fun to buy something for $9 and try to sell it for $9,000.

So either for development or investment, there really are reasons.
