So my nightmare start this Monday when I receive an email from 1and1 I get late from work and I did not have time to read the email until Tuesday morning when I read the email with the following

    Dear Mr. -------,

This e-mail serves as confirmation of the successful cancellation of your1&1 Package effective from 03/31/08. We will deactivate all package features on this date.
The remaining balance of your customer account will be credited to your credit card. If you would like to transfer the domain(s) to a different provider, youmay do so at any time within 30 days after the deletion date. 30 daysfrom the deletion date, the domain(s) will expire and will be made available to the public

At first I thought I was a joke from April fools, then I check my domains (12 total) and none on them work, so I decided is time to call 1and1 to see whats going on.

I spoke with a 1and1 customer representative and he told me that someone call yesterday to cancel all my domains that this person have all my information (customer ID and password) and he request the cancellation of all my domains I could not believe that I ask the guy if there was anything I can do he told me that there was nothing I can do , once a domain get deleted I have to fill a redemption form pay $40 fee plus domain registration.

He send me the PDF form to my email address, then I was checking (today) one of the domains I own and now the domain is transfer to another person how that happen? I just don't understand whats going on here, I have 3 years on the domains industry but I'm very noob does anyone have any suggestions or help I really appreciate

Wow, thats real bad. Since you can't do anything, maybe you should think about how this person got your details in the first place?

find out where 1and1 are based and look at the laws there. see if they have insufficient security because it obviously wasnt you.

you want to see if you can find somewhere that 1and1 arnt providing the service they agreed or are failing legally to keep up. once you have that they will do what you want.

    Thanks for your reply.

Funny thing is that all my domains are private domains so no information of me or anything is show on the whois.

Now the person that register my domain:

    admin-c-firstname: Andre
    admin-c-lastname: Schneider
admin-c-organization: DomCollect Worldwide Intellectual Property AG
    admin-c-street1: Zeughausgasse 9a

So I thougt that they might be the same person that delete the domains and I tought that I was the only one that could request a transfer or renew of the domain

Sorry to hear your bad luck, but this part of the letter seems to indicate you still have 30 days to transfer the domains to another provider which sounds like a good idea. Call GoDaddy and see if they can help you transfer them there, GD has great customer service when you are transferring domains because they want your business. They may help you get around the reinstatement fees, that sounds like a 1and1 scam.

i think you need to contact ICANN and also you need to file a case on the domain company for what happen with you.... then you may get your domains back... i got my domain back at godaddy after i reported to ICANN.... and repored to godaddy...

    So sad.
1-Canceled domains can n’t be registered before the expiration date+ redemption period.
2-If it’s under 1and1 with other registrant, then inquiry broadly and you can go for any legal help.

    Good luck.
Always keep your network secure and work securely.
