$100 Template Design Contest - Stock Market Software (continued from logo!)

You may have already seen my logo contest going on over at:

Product Description:
Since I now have a complete logo, I want to start putting the website together for the stock market prediction software NeuroBet. NeuroBet is a piece of software designed to forecast financial markets using Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms, intended to be used for spread betting (big in the UK!).

Brief:
The contest is to produce an uncoded web template PSD file. There is no need to code it into XHTML/CSS.

I'm looking for a professional design. This is not your typical yellow-bolded-text long ad-copy page. Although the front page will contain advertising copy, it will not be as obtrusive or blatant. A good example of what I'm interested in is something like this:

The template will consist of a left hand menu and top banner. The left hand menu will contain approximately 8-10 text items. The top banner will contain imagery relating to the stock market, spread betting, neural networks and making profit while sitting at a laptop, for instance.

The main content area will contain large titles separated by smaller paragraph sections with a few unordered lists (with associated graphic, maybe a smaller version of the NeuroBet logo). There will also be text links below each paragraph where users can read more.

Colours:
The logo is currently gold, black and grey. I've uploaded an attachment, which shows the logo. It needs to be incorporated into the header, and I would like to see a smaller version utilised for bullet points or text items on the left hand menu, if it looks appropriate. The main content area will be white. Only the menu and banner will be coloured or based on photographs/imagery.

I want to see some text on the main content area, with shorter paragraphs and large headers in appropriate colours. Images in the main content area are allowed and encouraged, if they work well in the design.

Any questions or queries should be directed in the thread, and not via PM, so that everyone can see the responses and make changes accordingly.

* I reserve the right to not choose a winner in the case that the logo does not match what I'm looking for
* I reserve the right to end or extend the contest at any time if I am not satisfied with the current entrants

I think there's just a lot of contests on at the moment mate, sometimes it takes over 24 hours to get the first entry in. Just ask people to leave a post if they plan on entering, just so you know to expect entries soon.

Thanks for the entries so far, I'll give individual feedback below:

pigbait75 - I'm afraid I don't really like this design, I think it's a bit too simplistic and doesn't really give off a professional feel. Is there anything you could do to jazz it up a bit?

zmaja - I do quite like this design. The header, newsletter subscription area and photos are great - but I have a few issues with some parts of the template below the header. I'm not really keen on the item buttons on the left, they don't really sit with the rest of the template, and look a bit simplistic. Is there anything you could do to improve them? Other than that, I really like it.

Keep the entries coming in, I'm really looking forward to seeing them!
