$75 Logo Contest - Stock Market Prediction Software

Hello DigitalPointers,

I want a logo for a website selling a product called NeuroBET.

Product description:
Neurobet is a piece of software designed to forecast financial markets using Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms, intended to be used for spread betting (big in the UK!).

Here are some possible formats:
* NeuroBET (preferred)
* neuroBET
* NeuroBet
* Neurobet

Here are some suggestions for ideas that might help you get started:
* A stock market graph/index that is clearly rising, but may have local dips - possibly with an arrow at the end?
* A brain with some form of neural network overlay?
* Some abstract means of representing an algorithm (mathematical symbols etc)?
* An abstract means of suggesting a rise in profits for the user?

I'm really looking for a professional design - Web 2.0 style logo is fine, but don't overdo the reflections because it might end up on letterheads. As for colours, I am mainly interested in mid/darker blues, but not navy blue. I am quite happy for you to try other combinations though as the later website template will probably be designed around the logo.

Format of image:
* At least 300dpi, in vector format .ai for Illustrator or high-resolution bitmap .psd for Photoshop.

Conditions:
* I reserve the right to not choose a winner in the case that the logo does not match what I'm looking for
* I reserve to end the contest at any time

Hey guys,

Good entries so far, although I have a few suggestions:

Hecky - Perhaps you could apply some gradients to the text and calculator to give it some more definition?

sb1234 - Is it possible to remove the white border surrounding the graph so that it doesn't look like it's overlaying the text too much? I don't think the graph numbers (axis) are needed either.

DynamicMK - I like this one, it's very simple but elegant. I'm not sure about my previous decision to stick with "NeuroBET", perhaps it might look better as "NeuroBet"? Could I also have a look at it in blue?

In response to the URL, there isn't a functioning website as of yet - I will be producing that after the logo is complete.

In regards to everyone's attempts so far:

Hecky - I like the gradients, it looks much better now. Is there a possibility of incorporating some reflections or other "Web 2.0" style jazz?

Dynamic MK - Both of your designs are good, I particularly like the addition of the gradients to the first one. I'm not sure about the N/Arrow second logo - I think it makes it difficult to read the N. I do however like the Italics, it adds a a "fast pace", which is something I'm trying to capture. How about an italicised version of the first one?

sb1234 - That's definitely an improvement over the first logo, it looks much cleaner now. However, the stock market graph may be better if it's positioned above the logo, and is made a bit more cartoony? I think that would make the text stand out more.

Weblazer - I really like the way you've integrated the the mathematical symbols. Perhaps if you reduced the contrast of the blue grid, and faded out the top, it would look a little better?

retzseo - This is definitely one of my favourites, I like this logo a lot. However, I think a better colour scheme would be more appropriate. How about some green or a lighter blue? Essentially, less saturated.

Mindbuzz - I like the overall concept, with the atom and numbers but I don't think the fades work so well. It would look better if it stood out more. Maybe put some borders around the text and bold it up a bit?

Ariestoteles - This is a really good logo, I like the bar chart at the top. I think the text could be made a bit more flashy though, perhaps using some borders?

Nick 252 - The symbol on the left is cool, it works really well. Could you improve the text on the right? Flesh it out a bit and make it a bit more "Web 2.0"?

In general, the logos are looking good. It's getting closer to what I had envisioned. I hope everyone likes the feedback. I'll be heading off to sleep soon (in around 2-3 hours), but will be available tomorrow morning (in UK time!). The entries have been really diverse and useful so far! Please keep them coming in. Make sure you send your queries too, I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Added shine, reflection didn't really work out so I wont post it . This is probably the best logo I've done in a long time IMO.
