Adsense Ad for CO-OP

While doing some research I found this ... an adsense ad for the Co-op

It wasn't me... But I was thinking about it!

 

You and me both. I didn't do it for a few reasons, one being that I think that is something that only Shawn should be able to do.

 

There doesn't seem to be a member code on the link.

 

Why only Shawn?

There's a bonus for recruiting affiliates ... and doing it through adsense complies with the TOS .. so I would think anyone can do it

I can see the keyword pricing going up already ... $XX.XX per click

 

Hope you didn't clcik on it for the sake of just clicking .. i didnt ... but I am sure there aff code there G is just hiding it and when you come through Shawn drops it fromthe url so most people would never even know.

 

If you right click on the link shouldn't it tell you the URL which contains the referring ID? [?signup=x]

The affiliate code needs to be passed through in the link in order for the affiliate to claim the bonus weight from DP. I can not see any affiliate code by viewing the properties of the link or by clicking on it and viewing the resulting page. I assume that someone may be trying to get bonus weight by recommending others to join. Unfortunately/Fortunately (depending on what ever side of the fence your are on regarding this conduct) it seems they have incorrectly structured their link.

 

... or it is Shawn himself. Not sure why he would put aff in it then but who knows. Anyway, I'm going to try it for a few hours as well, see how we go...

I thought Adsense is the actual viewed ads ... and AdWords is publising side.

 

No. The ads you see on Google are separate from AdSense. AdSense is the content/publishing network.

AdWords advertisers (providing ads for both 'networks') provide the content ads as well as the search ads but have a choice in doing so.

That screenshot from the SERP and the ads on the right have nothing to do with AdSense really.

 

Okay ... thought that might be the case.
