13 year old PR4 .com with traffic

    A year ago, I purchased a 1995 domain name
    • never expired
    • .com
    • never dropped
    • archive.org results going as far back as 1998
    • PR4
    • > 400 uniques a month

    My intention was to develop a directory, and as a result, I started extensive backlink development. This raised its PR from 1 to 4. Even inner pages got some PR. I have since decided against investing in the directory, and am proposing to sell the domain name.

    Note: I briefly attempted to sell this as a site, but the nature of questions I faced from prospective site buyers made me realize that it is best to sell the domain name, even if that means trashing my phpLD license.

    So there you have it. What can you offer me for a 13 year old PR4 domain with traffic.

    Here at DP hardly $500, at some serious domain/sites auction sites, "streched" $1000, if you are lucky...

    Domains worth more than you can really get for them. This is from my 10 years online expirience. I recently (4 days ago) purchased 7 letter very catchy webmaster related .com domain with valid PR3 and 10 uniques per day for only $65!

    Would you place any value on the fact that it is a 1995 domain? I would, anyday, pay at least $XXX for a decent domain name that was that old.

    I would not! Domain can be abused, dropped for some time, spammed etc domain.... Years domain is online plays very little role here because there are many ways in which domain owners abuse domains.... Unfortunately for all honest Internet members...

    I am sorry man, I put here my 10 years online based opinion and it looks like I ruining your auction, and this was not my intention! But you asked for it!

    You have a good domain, unfortunately for all honest Internet users this is not enough to reach 4 figures except if you have business.com and similar... this is my opinion...

    Hi, Good question. Actually, this domain never got developed. So, though I placed a purchased phpLD license (the expensive kind that does not need the linkback), I never really used it as a directory. So, no links have been sold. Nor has any other kind of monetization been done.
