To the Vista haters...who probably don't know much about Vista... Right click on your incompatible software/program installed on your PC. Click on Properties > Compatibility. Then click on "Run this software in compatibility mode for 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2)'". Have a nice day..
Can someone nominate this for sticky? I think we have a lot of Vista haters that don't know how to do what's mentioned above.
thanks man, now i wont have doubts on using vista, and microsoft is not selling xp anymore. its time to jump.
This feature was in XP too. Although Vista has this feature, sometimes XP software is not compatible on Vista due to driver support being missing. There are also quite a few bugs in Vista that might affect software, and create some issues.
Dude, don't have any doubts with Vista. It's the most stable and secure operating system out there released by Microsoft. If stability and security matter to you, upgrade to Vista. On top of that, Vista is just as fast if not faster! I think XP is a bit slower...and this is comparing my laptop to my desktop with very close-to-same CPUs. Most of the times, if not all, you can download the drivers from the software's website. Then again, drivers are usually involve hardware, and this thread is talking about software incompatibility. If hardware isn't compatible with Vista, then it's time to upgrade that hardware as well...can't think of any hardware that isn't compatible with Vista though, the hardware developers always update the drivers and offer it for download on their site. Only problem I've had with Vista so far in over a year of using it is an error when booting, but it was easily fixed (and the link I just gave out will show you how).
No, but more-over someone who actually has Vista and knows how to use it and what they're talking about..
interestingly enough i used that today and it works lol, but unfortunatly im still not a big fan of vista ive had some terrible trouble setting up wireless on a new laptop ive got ! Woc
You don't have to be an expert to use this feature, but you do have to know about this feature before having the right to complain about compatibility issues.
interesting, but I use both and it is some of the little things like networking and the like that I still prefer xp for
