I've got websites, but would really like to promote the first one in my sig. I want to promote this baby and draw thousands of traffic to it daily for starters. I've got five buckaroos to my name right now and need need to know what I need to do to draw traffic. Any suggestions, please post away like there's no tomorrow. I know unique traffic is preferred since it's real people clicking. But can someone explain to me what the point of traffic that are just hits? I mean I see folks on this forum selling 10K hits or whatever and I just don't understand the point of them. Anyone care to shed some light on that? Please post away. Remember, I only have five dollars on me. So listing any expensive suggestions won't do me a bit of good. I need to know what I can do right now preferably from people who have lots of traffic going to their own sites where it didn't cost them (I've read some posts on here where people made those claims so if that's you please post here how you got free traffic and so forth, if you don't mind). I'm ready to soak in as much information as possible to apply and execute immediately to get traffic coming to my site and returning visitors on top of that. Thanks.
dont do the "$5 for 10k visitors" type of thing..it doesn't work. Most of the time it's either fake traffic, popups/popunders, and crap like that. It's worthless...If you want to start getting traffic with minimal money spent I think your best bet is link exchanges. Find relevant site's and exchange front page and resource page links with them. Also, none of your images work next to each city, get those working and add alt tags to each and every one of them with something like "Chicago classified" "Miami Classified"..etc Start submitting to as many web directories as you can also, those one way links can't hurt..
Thanks FPForum. I figured they weren't worth it but was asking in regards to the what the point of hits were if they aren't unique traffic? Why would anyone want them? Do they serve any purpose at all? Also, the reason none of the images next to each city works is because I didn't put any images next to them. I didn't want to and didn't feel it's needed considering the type of site it is. Sure I can add images next to each but I'm not going to. I'd like to keep graphics to an extreme minimum on my end (webmaster's end), being that people posting WTB ads might be placing photos on their ads to help describe what it is they want to the seller that might have it to sell to them. So front page and resource page links, looks like I'll need to create a resource page then in order to execute that. And directories will get to started with that. While I do that, anyone else free to post more traffic tips. The more the better. Thanks a huge million to FPForum and all that will participate in this discussion.
There are many free pic sites and a well known landmark for the particular city, may stimulate response. On listing page you may get better results with ....please leave information so administrator can contact you (your info will never be shared,etc.) You can definitely generate traffic for free, but it will take WORK. Article generation would be my first thought. With USPS, UPS, Fed-ex etc., I am a little befuzzled about "LOCAL", but I still think that "LOCAL" might still be one of your "unique selling points". In other words, perhaps tie in Altanta, Chicago etc. into you keyword phrases in your articles. If you type into search box...free bum marketing strategies...you should have access to the information that you will need about article writing, keywords, and free traffic generation, to get you started at no cost. Thanks George for posting. But after reading what you typed, I'm curious as to what kind of site you think this is. As far as pics go, I'm not looking for any. Please remember, this thread was started to get ideas on how to get traffic because currently the site has none only because I hadn't promoted it due to my lack of funds. If I had funds then this thread really wouldn't even exist; I'd just hire someone instead of having to do the work myself. Gosh that would be WONDERFUL. haha. But since I do not have the funds, then well I'm seeking free methods to gain traffic. Nevertheless, the tail end of your post about the 'free bum marketing strategies' where I can get info about free traffic generation, I'll check into that. So for that, thanks.
