I just opened a new website and I did it all by my self!

Im looking at this site like my little project, I'm not going to buy any freelancers help now :D

Is it hard for me to jump 2 PR's in one month?

Where should I start? by buying PR2 - 4 links related to my blog?
Where do I make these backlinks everyone is talking about?

    and these basics!!

Green rep will be added for useful info!!! ;)

thanks a lot guys and gals,

    Best regards,

You have to start link building. Which will give you traffic as well as pr. Try submitting aviva, alive web directories.

Its actually pretty hard not to get PR2 if you're actively building up your Pagerank. Just as a warning, you shouldn't worry too much about the little green bar. What you need to build up your pagerank is continue to get links wherever you can. Generally, the better the pagerank of the page you acquire a link from, the more link juice you'll get from the page, resulting in higher PR for you site.

I recommend couple of strategies for this.

The first is getting backlinks. How to get them?

You can use blog posting, yahoo directories, forum posting, social bookmarking, etc... just start working on it.

You can also check my sig for quality backlinks.

Another strategy is to have some on page optimization.

In order not to repeat my self - see the thread I've posted on on page optimization - you will find some helpful tips there.

Another thing you can do is Press Releases.

I just posted an tips update to my thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=438873

Check the "Press Releases on page optimization" part.
You can also use your Press Release as back link source.

    Regards

I got there in a few months without even trying. I created a personal blog at www.MrNordstrom.com and wrote some general posts once in a while, never doing any kind of SEO whatsoever. A few months later when I started learning about SEO, I checked my PR and boom, PR2 it was.

    Ok and why not?!

    Good luck with your blog.

Still in order to go higher (PR2 is not something very special) you will need to deploy some techniques or have a "unique" content and a lot of good friends that will comment on your blog (which is still a way of promoting your self).

    Peace. :)

The original PR formula was logorithmic. Seems like it's all screwed up now.

Going from PR0 to PR2 is much easier than going from PR2 to PR4, or even from PR4 to PR5 etc...

I took a new site to a pr2 in a short time. I just did some free directory submissions and got involved in other blogs in my niche.

    Thanks for the info,

    one question,

When you talk about getting involved in other blogs. Do you mean commenting and posting your link in the comments?

    thanks,
