I think it's funny that the very day I sign up at digg and post 1 article, then come here and add the url to a digg-exchange, I'm banned...

You gotta know how to overcome the system.
The reason why most of you were banned was because when digg exchanging in freebies forum, you click on the links (the referrer is DP) and then automatically dig and close the window.

    Few ways to pass this:
*Copy paste the link in a new window so you will have no referrer.
*Click on the source of the story (Digg can see if you follow these links when in the story) and only THEN digg the story

If you do this all the time, you are safe.

When this latest round of digg exchanges started I tried posting links back to this thread Digg say "don't talk about digg" but I'd see people posting afterwards with more requests and frequently for posts that were 100% spammy.

I think we should be able to promote articles in digg but I also think we have a responsibility to do it discretely and to add value to digg along the way.

I'm guessing the bans are because Digg didn't see value being added.

I got banned today , furthermore all the diggs i had submitted were deleted which really sucks. I had written some articles which i submitted to digg , and i was getting traffic to my website from it & better search results too , i somehow think in my case it more of a conspiracy by some companies which im trying to expose rather than just a digg exchange ban.

Yes. These sites are not dumb, and with the sale of sites like My Blog Log, and Stumble...they know that corporations with new money are now buying up 2.0 type stuff.
They are not going to allow their service to become worthless and fraudulent from "fake" Diggs and "Gate Crashers".
Also, they read the forums. they know that these "click gangs " are setting up and performing fake boosts.

There are many social book marking sites, and believe me there will be a few more purchased before the year is out. Believe me a few "Digg me and I'll Stumble you" threads, is not going to get in the way of that, they will shut you down.

    Wouldn't you?

E Bay just purchased Stumble, so I would not mess around anymore if Stumble is important to you.
I know I get around 1000 a month from Stumble, so I have no reason to do the "Stumble me and I'll Stumble you" thing, besides, it's worthless.
Stumble traffic is already hit and miss, and it is largely 30 second traffic, with a low conversion rate.
It is only for ego to get a fake Stumble boost from forum members. Just to see the numbers.
    It's not worth it.
E Bay purchased it for a reason, i would like to see what it is, before my site is banned from the network.

I agree with you about the bad quality of traffic, though when I'm stumbling, I look at the pages and everything. Mines set to artwork so I like to watch the flash movies :)

i think it is coze most digg exchange you press the link and quickly press digg. if you actually read the article or at least spend time before actually digg it, you're profile will be safe

I think it's just a bad move to set up "Click gangs" and it will come to an end with all of the sites real soon, and who knows what the repercussions will be? What if Google buys Digg, and considers all "Click gang " activity fraudulent, (because it is), and disables your adsense account, or bans your website? Or if Ebay (since they own stumble) considers "Click gang" Stumbles fraudulent, and bans your site from the network, not just your account, but you whole site.
they are well within their rights to do so.
At this point in the 2.o game, with all the money moving around and purchases going on, it is NOT the time to be playing games with your website.

That is not SEO, black, or white hat...it is just cheating.
Just my opinion, but I will do it the right way, or not at all.
    It's so much more satisfying.

And so I am not a hypocrite, yes I participated in one of those threads for a bout 5 minutes...it's just not right.
We would all like to find a quick golden goose, but by now, we should all know that there isn't one.
Hard work, knowledge and dedication is the only way to be successful, without stealing or cheating.

Besides it's kinda Gay "Stumble me and I'll Stumble you":)

I believe digg exchange is still possible. We have to be more careful. We must not disclose the IDs used for digging publicly. Also the story to be dugg should not be announced publicly.

Yup woke up this morning to find my digg account banned and all my stories removed :(
Ah well, stuff happens. I'm not going to complain as I was in violation of their terms by swapping diggs here on DP. I knew that from day one, but like most things the traffic was worth the risk of being banned, Lesson learnt, move on now :p

Don't Worry. You can again create an ID with the same eMail address from the same IP. But will have to wait for 10 days or more to do that. Or else register from somewhere else differently.
And don't directly click on the digg-exchange links here on DP. Paste them directly on the address bar to digg further.
