    =>~ $300: WordPress Design for PaddyBloggit.com ($150 for .psd & $150 for coding) ~<=

    This contest has two parts:

    • .psd design for paddybloggit.com and
    • coding for paddybloggit.com

Submissions can be for just the .psd or both. If only submitting a .psd design please ensure that the design you submit will adhere to the coding requirements (as listed below).
Prize money is split evenly between design and coding - i.e. $150 for .psd design and $150 for coding.

    Main Design Features:

    Site Topic/Theme:
An Irish themed design but not over the top 'leprechauny' Irish! The site is going to focus on Irish life. Topics will be relevant to what’s happening in the Irish community. The blog will be used to comment on politics, etc.

    Colors/Design:
    • Design should be clean, fresh yet memorable
    • Web 2.0 style
    • Wordpress 2.x compliant (include all default Wordpress features including calendar)
    • Good adsense integration
    • Banner 468x60 area (but mustn't take from the site)
    • An area for 80x15 link images may be less intrusive than a banner area (again -> not placed in a prominent position)
    • I would also like the blog to incorporate a portrait photo of an avatar 75x75 like the way it has been integrated into http://www.phoenixrealm.com ==> About 'Paddy Bloggit'. (I will be holding a contest for an avatar for this area at a later stage!)
    Layout:

    • 3 column layout
    • Right menu for search, categories, archives, blog roll
    • Header image should include the Irish flag, quotation – ‘Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people’ – W.B. Yeats and ‘Voice of the People’.
    • Top/header menu bar/tab for 'page'
    • As this is a commentary on Irish life – politics, education, health etc …. I would like the user comments to show up with a speech bubble similar (or a variation of) to the one used on http://www.phoenixrealm.com
    • Bottom footer with W3C CSS Valid logos/graphics and W3C Valid XHTML logos/graphics (Example: http://www.rockettheme.com - bottom of page)
    • Bookmark ready – 'Share This' plugin

    Coding:
    • Valid CSS and XHTML 1.0 Transitional (no tables in sight!)
    • 3 column layout. The three column layout should remain the left and right columns being of a fixed width and the centre column being of fluid width.
    • Both sides need to be widgetized/plugin ready
    • Plugins: Include ‘Adsense Manager’ (http://www.mutube.com), contact form (http://chip.cuccio.us), Google Search widget & sitemaps, WP-Grins, Share This, Recent Comments etc.
    • Adsense ready
    • 100% Coded
    • Web 2.0 Coded
    • Designed for Wordpress 2.1 and above
    • Tested on all major browsers (FireFox, Internet Explorer, Opera)
    • Bookmark ready - use ‘Share This’ plugin

    Misc.:
    • As questions arise I will be able to clarify what I want a little bit more.
    • Please post your submissions with a watermark.
    • I get full rights and ownership of the psd/template/associated files.
    • Any/all images used must be 100% copyright free.

    Payment Details:
    • Payment will be via PayPal:
    • $150 on receipt of winners .psd (with font files) of the design, and $150 on receipt of completed and verified working theme.

    Deadline:

PSD: This will depend on the last submission. I'll update ppl on this as the contest progresses.
Coding: The winner will need to provide the completed theme within 7 days of the final PSD being agreed (if doing both the psd and coding).

I reserve the right not to choose submissions if they aren't what I'm looking for!

I'll give it a try to the non-coding part of the work... template/graphics. If that's what you recommend we do, Tetragon?

I'd prefer to have all the design & coding done by the same person ..... it would make life alot easier for me.
But I am happy to get the psd done seperately if it means that designers who can't code get a chance to show off their innovative skills!

Like my Lord Bloggit site I want Paddy Bloggit to be special too!!

Yes I am willing to seperate the job (as stated in the brief).

So I know what submissions may arrive for the psd design please state here that you will be entering a psd design.

The way I'll work the coding side of it ........ after I've chosen a winning design I'll ask interested coders to pm me samples of their work etc. Coders may also send me a brief as to what they will do from a coding perspective using my design brief as a guide.

So ...... who's on to submit a psd design??

(Bear in mind I want innovation and uniqueness etc. as per my initial posting)

i think the reason why you are not getting many entries, is because right at the moment, there is lots of template/website design comps going on, and most people will probably work on one, rather than doing a few, i suggest wait until there are not many current contests on website design, and then you will get a greater reponse.
