    I read the google guidlines for webmsters. In the list of rules they say no to use tools such as this because it is bad for the datacenters. so my question is - is using a tool such as this can hurt my website in the google ranking? or even get my punished away from the index?

    Rest assured that your site will not be penalized when using such tool :)

    The reason is because search engines understand that it is beyond the webmasters' control to have their links appear on the net. If search engines penalize such acts, then our competitors will submit our sites to bad / spammy sites also.

    Very useful tool - it already has been a great help to discover discrepancies in the datacenters. Once checking further, it was discovered that the SERPs were also different.

    This tool will be useful for discovering where a site is ranking lower

    and if the IP addresses can be geolocated, it will reveal in what parts of the world a site is ranking higher and lower
