Is ddg a reliable search engine?

Yes it is, results are also very similar to google, small differences.

 

True. I like using ddg. It’s quite similar to Google. They care about user privacy. Ddg doesn’t track you.

 

Now a day ddg is doing good and getting good review. So I think this a good search engine.

 

Generally speaking, when a search engine starts having millions of users with billions of searches to believe that the government is not going to rein it in is naive.

 

I started using DDG a few months ago, just to not support Darth Google. It is hard for me to say how good it is because I do not focus on search statistics or comparisons, but it has met my needs, to date. @qwikad.com brings up a good point about big tech and it is not just government corrupting them; they manage to do a good job of corrupting the search process with their leadership's own politics and beliefs. If DDG ends up being just one more big tech partisan, then there will need to be a different, better solution.

 

Google seems to be promoting DDG.
So is all of the mainline media. Almost every day there is a good article some where.
Wonder if that is an indication of how differant DDG really is.

There was a browser called Epic Browser which was the best in privacy rating.
It also had an increasingly good searchengine.

Epic got destroyed by the media and the other tech companies.
It was banned by everyone because it was really effective in keeping you private.

In the end it had to admit defeat and is now using Yahoo as its searchengine.
Not sure how effective it is now in keeping you private either.

So if every one of the established companies is praising DDG rather than trying to destroy it, may be its not as much of a danger to them than we all believe it to be!

Wish that was true Mr Yadav.

The fact is that when the main Pirates of Privacy like Google and facebook seem to have not a lot of problems with a new searchengine, then that new SE is not a real threat to them.

That also means that there are all kinds of back doors open into the new SE to the established culprits and therefore only an illusion of privacy exists.

 

I quite like DDG.
And the best thing... mainly organic results.

 

DuckDuckGo is also my go to search engine. Sometimes, mostly for image search, I still turn to Google, though.

 

If you're privacy centric sure it's a decent search engine. They pull search results from Google & Bing etc etc anyway.

 

I too doubt that they will pull the results from Google and Bing.

 

Yes, DuckDuckGo is more secure than using incognito mode because it doesn't store your browsing data and also prevents tracking. Incognito mode also doesn't store your search history on your computer or mobile phone, but the tracking is still enabled.
